Re: opinions: Optio S5I?
Yep, I believe that. I'd offer what it cost to get it fully repaired, say from being submerged under water, say for a week, and the price of a new battery subtracted from the cost of a new one. Oh, what's that you say, now they owe you money? cbwaters wrote: There's one on Craig's list here for like $35. Needs a battery but they say it'll work for a couple minutes on the one it has. [when did that ever stop ME from blathering on.] I have a S5i, and it would be a fine backup, except for the fact that the original one I bought was for my wife, who loved my S4, and went on a LOT of business trips. Wanted one of her own. The 5i was just the ticket! Now, she's advanced in grade, and doesn't travel nearly as much as she did. Nor does she take photos like she used to. Her little 5i just sits in her drawer, gathering lint. Craig's list, huh? Re: opinions: Optio S5I?
Cory, I bought two, for my daughter and my son daughter-in-law. (price was too good @ ~$150 new) Daughter was complaining about the S4 I gave her. She went back to school and brought it back in spring - fuzzy pictures. They were indeed mis-focused. Pentax corrected the problem under warrentee. She took the S4 back during the repair and just kept it. So I now have the S5i...nice camera with extra zoom capabilities. Son and daughter-in-law have had no problems. Batteries are $10-$12 on ebay. (I've got 3.) At $35+$12=$47, you'll not get a better 5 meg PS, especially for the kids. (Daughter sweet-talked me into a new Casio 7 meg Exlim claiming faster focusing. I couldn't see it, but I know how to pre-focus.) Regards, Bob S. On Mon, Feb 25, 2008 at 6:57 PM, keith_w [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: cbwaters wrote: There's one on Craig's list here for like $35.
