Re: ot time machine question
If you have the installer download file, just archive it along with your codes. That's actually what I have done with all my Adobe software: rendered the CD/DVD originals to Disk Image files and saved them in my software archive along with all the installation codes. Takes up a lot less space on the shelf and is a lot easier to find when needed. :) G > On Jul 6, 2020, at 6:20 AM, David J Brooks wrote: > > Good to know Godfrey. > > I have all of my versions up to 4 on CD with codes but upgrade to 6 was via > download. > > Guess ill deal with it when the time comes > > Dave > >> On Sun, Jul 5, 2020 at 11:21 PM Godfrey DiGiorgi >> wrote: >> >> Dave, >> >> Time Machine should have the most recent installed version in the latest >> backup. Re: ot time machine question
Dave, Time Machine should have the most recent installed version in the latest backup. That said, I have not had much success reinstalling Adobe applications via Time Machine. Their installation is complex and involves some authentication files and links that they create in various locations on the system book volume. For this reason, you should always keep a copy of the original Adobe installer along with your authentication key in the event that you need to do a re-install of LR or PS, or any other Adobe software. For this reason, as a practical matter it's not important what Time Machine is storing when it comes to Adobe applications. Re: ot time machine question
Have you checked that Time Machine is successfully backing up regularly? Check its status in the System Preferences panel. You should see dates for oldest, latest and next backups. ot time machine question
dont ask me why but the other day i just had a peak at my applications on my time machine. I noticed it showed Lightroom as version 4 even though i upgraded to Version 6 several years ago.
