(Chair, Department of Liberal Arts, Juilliard) Deadline for Submissions: September 23, 2006 The purpose of this conference is to bring various strands of Continental thought, from the late Nineteenth Century onward, into dialogue with the American tradition from Transcendentalism and Pragmatism to contemporary philosophy. The theme is “The Self.” We welcome any paper that brings together at least one thinker from each of these two broadly defined traditions. Submission Guidelines: Papers should not exceed 3000 words and should be prepared for blind review. Do not include any personal information in the paper.
