Please top piling onto John.  I have not had time to go into his theories.
I have no idea whether he is correct or not.  I was absolutely wrong in
replying to Stephen, thinking I was writing off-list.

I think that John would have more success here if he responded to ongoing
threads rather than continuing to try to push a difficult thesis onto a
list, most of whom are not particularly interested in Darwin, one way or
another.

One way to deal with annoying posters is simply to not respond. Eventually, 
they'll see that there's no point in posting and go away.
