Ok, I tried again with the new set tonight, and based on my horrible experience
with the first set, I adapted my method a bit (and used the correct solution
first). The results were much happier than the first time. I have applied all
left side decals except for the stripe that goes around the top of the bracket
(where the elbow and tonearm meet). To see the result, cut and paste this link
into our browser window and it will take you to my photobucket space.

There is some very very fine wrinkling, but I understand that the Micro Set

Hi John,
Great job. It really looks great!! I suggest that you coat the back bracket
with a couple of coats of Bullseye orange shellac. It gives the decals that
orange look like aged decals. The coatings protect the decals, too. You can
get Bullseye shellac at any good hardware store. Good luck and great job.

If you use bullseye the stabilizer in the stuff along with the alcohol
will eat your decals right off. Use a high grade dewaxed shellac(lemon
yellow works well) and an air brush for multiple very dry coats till you
get some thickness then a damp coat to make it glossy.

Lacquer will eat them also. There is a decal clear overcoating
material. Go to a good hobby shop that deals in large scale model RR or
large RC planes and ask for the stuff. Once coated then you can
overcoat that with lacquer or shellac. I think there are both flat and
gloss overcoat materials.

The hobby shop where I got the Micro Set sold me a small can of Testor's flat

I wanted a soft gloss to just 'kiss' the surface with the spray.
