Re: [Phono-L] Maroon Amberol?
What you have is definitely called a Royal Purple Amberol. The numbers of the Royal Purples run from 28,101 up to 29007, according to my data base. The Royal Purples were Edison's answer to the Victor Red Seal records. They were recorded by the upper crust performers (instrumentalists and vocalists) and cost more than the Blue Amberols. The colors were purplish, maroonish, etc. They varied in color as did the Blue Amerbols. Some of the 29,000 series are more maroon than purple. There was less than stingent QA on color. On 11/27/2012 06:23 PM, Steven Medved wrote: 29001 to 29077 Royal Purple. Actually the Royal Purple Series is numbered from 29001 to 29077. [Phono-L] Brunswick model AZ-944 with a model number AP-952 amplifier. information needed
Phono list: Some years back I had inquired about aBrunswick model AZ-944 phonograph, with a model number AP-952 amplifier. Someone had replied with a comment they had a schematic or documentation on the machine. I filed it away and ! can't find it now that I need it. *grin* If anyone has such, I would appreciate an E-mail / phone / address contact, so I could obtain such. I am getting around to considering restoring this with a phono companion. Sure would like anything on the machine etc. I trust this is not to far off topic as the phonograph was made around 1925 -1930? Thanks Bob ___ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.org

I was lucky with an early find resulting in removal of a kidney with renal cell carcinoma 1 year ago. Apparently clear. For those who don't recognise my name I write a regular column called Australia Calling for In The Groove. Yes, I am Anthony Sinclair of Australia. For those who are not members of MAPS then this email will probably be meaningless to you so I will keep it short and to the point. Back 23/March 2007 I was diagnosed with cancer and given three weeks to live. As I try to keep a low profile (aside from teasing my American friends with scurrilous remarks in ITG) I told only a few people. Well, news leaked out and the number of emails, cards and phone calls that I received was not only staggering but very, very heart warming. The kind and generous support continued right through my - obviously successful - chemo and I can truly regard the international phono family as exactly that: a FAMILY. Well, today was my final visit to my cancer doctor as it is now over five years since my treatmentand, as I am still alive, I am statistically boring and likely to keep on living for a long time to come. Unless I upset too many of my American friends by calling a VV-IV 'cheap and nasty' again. On behalf of my wife and family I say THANK YOU to everyone. Your kind words, your prayers, your presence (even on the other side of the world) made a pretty tough time tolerable and, sometimes, fun. On my own behalf I say to anyone with cancer now and in thefuture remember this: cancer IS curable. More, much more research is to be done but don't forget that you must have faith and a very positive attitude.
