I've had the 75mm focal length version of that camera for a number of
years. It's a nice camera. I have used various Polaroid print films
as well as Polaroid Type 55, and Kodak T-Max 100 and Ektachrome
100Plus in Readyloads with my Santa Barbara camera.

I've heard that color Polaroid film shifts a lot. So instead of
going that route, I thought about either buying or making a body cap
for my 35mm Nikon F2. Can anyone recommend a good color film to
start with. Is there a color shift with 35mm like there is with
Polaroid film? What about the reciprocity? Better or worse than
Polaroid film? Does using the pinhole effect the processing (I
wouldn't think so, but I thought I'd ask)?

All color film will shift due to reciprosity failure. The question is
how much and how quickly.

Polaroid color film shifts a lot due to reciprosity error. As near as
I can tell Polaroid color film is meant for studio flash exposures.
Even relatively quick exposures (a few seconds) will cause shifting.
The Polaroid web page has all the information on all their film online
in the Professional section. I think they recommend the film for
1/1 to 1/10 second.

Since you already have the Polaroid 545 back you could use either Fuji
QuickLoads or Kodak ReadyLoads. These are available in either color
negative, color positive (slides) or BW negative. They are more
expensive than buying a box of the same sheet film, but you don't have
to load them in the dark, there is no dust problem, you can drop them
off at the lab without having a spare film box and the holder and a
box of packets is much lighter and less bulky than the equivalent
number of regular cut sheet film holders.

A few months back on Ebay I purchased a large
collection of Dianas that were unused in the original
packaging (I'll wait for the collective gasp heard
round the world - or at least on this list).

Much to my dismay, one camera's shutter was completely
froze up. In a fit of creativity, I not so gently
removed that juicy lens - and mounted it on a... guess
what - a bodycap! Leaving me with the perfect pinhole
camera body - I just finised it Sunday, and I hope to
shoot with it in the next few days, as well as WPPD
III. Oh, anyone want a Diana - I seem to have way too
many...

Don

Any new ideas for unusual cameras. I've been
 preping my students.

Michele, the answer is yes. The answer comes from the participation
rules at

http://www.pinholeday.org/participate/rules.php

The photograph...

(3) has to be made with a lensless photographic device: pinhole,
multiple pinholes, zone plate, slit, etc, in either a home made or
commercial camera.

...so zone plates are definitely OK.

Hi Michele,

Absolutely!! Worldwide Pinhole Photography day images can be made by
pinhole or any of its lensless, tiny aperture siblings, including images
made with zone plates, slits and Guillermo's new pinhole sieves.

DOH! Frames strike again! I teach my students that frames are evil (writing
Frames are Evil! on the board), so now I have another example. g

I never use my browser full screen, so although I have a 17 monitor and
1024X768 resolution, I was only able to see three of the thumbnails.

Chris has coded the frames for no scrolling, not a good idea,
obviously.brbrThere are only 6 images per artist, so if you have 1024x768
resolution, thebrlast thumbnail (1/2 visible in IE6) is the last image of
each artist. Whenbrusing IE, pressing F11 key will allow you to see all of
the thumbnails.brbrAnother way to see them all is to right click on the
artist names, that willbrgive you a scrollable page with the thumbnails, then
you drag and drop thebrthumbnails, one by one, into another browser window,
that'll open the fullbrsize images. It shouldn't be this difficult,
tho.brbrBTW Chris: that's a very ingenious camera you have made, if I were

have placedbran order already. I very much like the images, especially

To my sense of design is was. I was assuming that 15 inch screens were common
but
didn't take into consideration the resolution one might be using. I should
have done more
testing, now there are scroll bars.

Thank you. I think I'm very much like you. I love to tinker and figure out
cameras or ways
to build them. I have reversed engineered many cameras I've seen on the web
for my
own
amusement. I was originally just going to post plans for this camera but after
reading
posts from others about the cameras they bought I thought it would be best to
offer mine
for sale. I have had my web site up since the turn of the year but have been
stuck
perfecting the instruction booklet and tinkering with a 35mm version. I think
I'm more
interested in making new designs but I think I'll save them till after WWPD
