I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has used or is using Polaroid
material in their pinhole photogrphy. Also would like to hear from
anyone in the uk who is using pinhole.

Greg,
You really overpaid. But, alas, it's a good camera once you fix the lens.

If you're handy with mechanical things it's fairly easy. You have to remove
the screws holding the bellows to the lens piece. Then remove the lens. I
drilled mine which shattered it nicely. Then, I believe there is a blade,
it's been a while since I did this, behind the actual shutter that becomes
your shutter when you remove the real shutter blades. It will be obvious
when you work the shutter a few times while it's apart and watch. Tape the
pinhole where the shutter is and it all goes back together and looks the
same as before.

Good luck.

Larry

Polaroids outdoors.

My favorite Polaroid is the Reporter model. It has a cable release socket,
a
tripod socket, and is very easy to modify. There is a wide variety of film
available for it. And, the camera can be picked up for about $5.00. It's a
great camera except for the lens and a pinhole fixes that nicely.

I picked up one for $6.00 (so I overpaid) and indeed, the lens is
crappy - and not fun/interesting crappy, just crappy. Do you
have any suggestions on how to convert it to a pinhole?

Thanks
Greg

2000-11-04 Thread Sam Wang

Mark,

Along with many, I've used Polaroid materials and cameras for
pinhole. In both, it's the instantaneous nature of Polaroid film that
made it worthwhile. For instance, replacing a Supershooter's lens
with a pinhole makes a nice quick conversion, whether you use its
built-in shutter or not. Chopping the whole front off allows it to
become a wide-angle camera, great for shooting architectural models
indoors with the 3000 speed film.

Polaroid backs are also great to use. The pack film back plus a
simple box taped to the front completes a camera.

Any specific area you wish to explore?
