Will it be released on the same day as Plasma 6.0? Will we be able to work it into the Promo stuff, like the announcement and social media blasts do you think? Plasma Bigscreen
Adita tells me that Plasma Bigscreen is ready Qt 6 and KF6 happiness. I've not tried it yet and and he's still working on the apps. It was released as part of Plasma for the later 5 releases, but it's too late to add it into the Plasma 6 release so I'll get it working in neon unstable and if all is well then I'll make a standalone release alongside Plasm 6.0. Since we moved to the repository-based structure from the previous namespace-based ones, moving packages in or out of kdereview, or between any namespace, does not affect the translation structure anymore. -- Luigi
plasma-bigscreen
I've moved plasma-bigscreen out of kdereview at the request of Aditya. Translation admins please move the translations. I believe this is to be released with Plasma 5.26. Aditya you should join the Plasma matrix room and the plasma-devel mailing list if you haven't already. What's to happen with all the bits in here? https://invent.kde.org/plasma-bigscreen Jonathan
A new plasma shell: Plasma Bigscreen
Hi all, announcing a new project that has been brewing for a while (was developed mostly internally at Bluesystems for now, even tough in a public repo): It's a plasma shell meant as "welcome screen" for smart tvs, the code can be found at https://invent.kde.org/kde/plasma-bigscreen there is a plasma shell based on Plasma Nano, a containment that shows a kindof a fullscreen launch menu and (like lasma mobile) needs a bunch of setup to work as intended on a device. It's also integrated with Mycroft for voice interaction (for which some ad hoc skills had been written, like a youtube browser app) the core of the qt/plasma mycroft integration is an external project here: https://github.com/MycroftAI/mycroft-gui Questions? comments? -- Marco Martin
