[SlimDevices: Plugins] Trackstat and Dynamic Playlist crashes with 7.0

2006-09-23 Thread smc2911

I somewhat unwittingly upgraded to 7.0a (it came down the pipe in my
debian stable main update). I then noticed that clicking on the
trackstat link on the main webUI crashes the server, as does clicking
on one of the DynamicPlaylist entries (clicking play is ok, it's just
clicking on the entry itself). Nothing useful seems to show up in the
logs, even with --d_plugins set.

running command line always helps get any kind of crash.
also make sure you are running the latest versions, as the link seems to
be ok for me.

Would I see the errors at startup (if there were any)? Or do I have to
look in some log file? There are no obvious errors reported.

ceejay;138640 Wrote:

I deleted the following directories and files prior to installation:

/Library/PreferencePanes/SlimServer.prefPane
~/Library/Caches/SlimServer
~/Library /SlimDevices

My old SlimScrobbler plugin was installed within the
SlimServer.prefPane, so it must have been deleted completely.

After installing I put the SlimScrobbler directory into
/Library/PreferencePanes/SlimServer.prefPane (-- show package
contents) server/plugins

I also tried
~Library/SlimDevices/plugins
(this used not to work with the older versions of SlimScrobbler, it
always had to be installed withinh the SlimServer Preferance Pane).

Still, the SlimScrobbler plugin is not recognized...

2006-09-23 Thread smc2911

Latest update: I powered down the Squeezebox and then couldn't get
access to the Slimserver at all (SB couldn't connect nor could I access
the webUI). The logs suggested a problem wth the SuperDateTime plugin. I
deleted it from the Plugins directory and restarted slimserver. Not only
did that allow me to access the Slimserver again, but the problems I
noted above are no longer occurring. Perhaps there was some kind of
strange interaction between SuperDateTime and the other Plugins.

Hello Dabloss,

I had sold my previous G5 computer and was without a Mac for the last
month+. I finally received a new intel iMac and should have
iTunesupdate setup as soon as James updates it for iTunes 7. From a
post that I read, James is waiting for iTunes 7.0.1 to be released
before he updates it.

Once he has released it and it works, I will give it a whirl and let
you know.

Best,
Gov

[SlimDevices: Plugins] AudioScrobbler - badly tagged tags?

2006-09-23 Thread pechspilz

Using SlimScrobbler 0.36 I keep seeing this message in my Last.FM
overview after a while:

Some tracks you submitted have not been added to your profile for the
following reason:
The track you submitted appears to be badly tagged - please check the
file's tags.

Can I see what tags are submitted? I'm usually veeery tidy with my tags
so I don't think it's the tags in the song file itself.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: SlimScrobbler plugin not recognized by SS 6.5.0

2006-09-23 Thread aubuti

At first my linux-based slimserver wouldn't recognize SlimScrobbler
0.36. After searching some threads it appeared that it might be a
problem with the end-of-lines (EOLs). Turns out that the plugin files
used DOS/Win EOLs (cr/lf) instead of Unix (lf). James says he thinks he
has fixed it now, but wasn't sure. I changed the EOLs to Unix style and
all was fixed.

Open one of the .pm files in a good text editor to see what kind of
EOLs it has. If they're DOS/Win, try downloading the plugin again, or
fix the line endings yourself if you know how. I don't know the
available Mac tools well, but it should be easy.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC 1.05 on Slimserver 6.5.0 with Debian package install

2006-09-23 Thread ericj

I have been very happily using 6.3 and AlienBBC 1.05, until yesterday
when I upgraded, using the Debian package to Slimserver 6.5.0 and the
6.5 version of the Alien plugin. Long story short I cannot get this
to work. When I change the file type in the
slimserver/server/filetypes page I get:

Required binary was not found: [mplayer.sh] -really-quiet -vc null -vo
null -bandwidth 1000 -cache 128 -af
volume=0,resample=44100:0:1,channels=2 -ao
pcm:nowaveheader:file=/dev/fd/3 $FILE$ | [flac] -cs --totally-silent
--endian=little --channels=2 --sign=signed --bps=16 --sample-rate=44100
--compression-level-0 -

when I try from the box I get the rtsp: file convert error-check file
types.

I have tried changing permissions of mplayer.sh and owner to and from
root and slimserver. mplayer itself can stream audio from a real
source just fine.

One possible problem is where the mplayer.sh is located. With the
Debian package should this be in /usr/share/slimserver/Bin ?
Thanks in advance for any help...
Eric

I don't know where mplayer.sh should be in Debian but it probably
should be in the same directory as binaries such as flac, sox and
mov123.

You could also try d_path to find where slimserver is looking for these
files.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Lyrics plugin not working

2006-09-23 Thread gdude

Hi all,

I can't seem to get the Lyrics plugin to work. Every time I go into
Plugins - Lyrics Version 0.6 the screen scrolls something like

Getting exact lyrics for -
Slim::Schema::Contributor=HASH(0xad8f2e0) - Song Title

for a while, and eventually goes back to displaying artist and title as
in normal playing mode. Some info about my setup:
Squeezebox v3, firmware v64
SlimServer 6.5.0 - 9916 - Debian - EN - utf8 running on Ubuntu Dapper

I'm attaching a copy-paste from my /var/log/slimserver.log file
containing some error messages. Anyone has a clue?

Thanks,
Greg

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: New WeatherTime Screensaver adds graphical forecasts

2006-09-23 Thread martin . rehfeld

Hi Folks,

as promised, V1.8 of WeatherTime is out. It now supports (actually
needs) Slimserver V6.5.0+.

As always, you can get it at
http://inside.glnetworks.de/2006/03/11/weathertime-screensaver-plugin-for-slimserver/

One other often requested feature has been added: You can now start
Weathertime from the Plugin menu (instead of just enabling it as a
screensaver). The latter option has been dropped - let me know if
someone needs to be able to enable the screensaver from the player
Plugins menu. Personally, I always do that from the Slimserver web
frontend. But I think, you can still do it in the player Settings menu
as well.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Trackstat and Dynamic Playlist crashes with 7.0

2006-09-23 Thread smc2911

Well, before SuperDateTime seemed to be the culprit rather than
TrackStat or DynamicPlaylist: removing it seemed to restore normal
behaviour. I then tried the latest SuperDateTime beta to see if that
would have problems too. It did, so I removed it. Even with it removed,
I was again having problems with TrackStat. Digging into some logs, I
saw the following types of message:

2006-09-24 13:04:09.9738 ERROR: file error - cache failed to write css:
 Error in tempfile() using

and now everything seems to be ok again (apart from not being able to
use SuperDateTime!).
