Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
I finally got SvrPowerControl working on my Mac. It was difficult because of odd permissions issues with SqueezeCenter, which I will ask about elsewhere. I see that one can really assign any scripts to the menu options. Is it possible (and fairly easy!) to change menu item names? If I am running a script on Shutdown Server I would really like the menu item name to give an indication of the actual script. I calculate the size of the font and based on the longest string that could show I scale it up as much as possible. So if there is more vertical space and the longest text is shorter, then the font would be bigger automatically. I'll play around a bit (as my wife is sometimes mumbling about the font-size too ;) - which makes at least to votes to look into it again) to see If there is some room for bigger fonts. I can only suggestions and the AA website said it was trialling traffic shaping in Jul/August 2009. Michael, I believe archive is ok - I was able to extract it w/out any issues on mac.. besides, I tried other archives - it cannot be that all of them are corrupted I only see the output you sent, and that says that the file's header was corrupted, doesn't it? Maybe some other tar versions are less sensitive to headers or similar. But that failure is responsible for the bad behaviour of the install script. Ok, some lazy programming on my side helped a bit too :-). But files which give that response will not install, even when my homework is done. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins
I have just switched from SC 7.3.4 to Squeezeboxserver 7.4.1 (on Ubuntu 9.04). I use CustemScan and CustomBrowse created menus for classical music (including the custom tag GROUPING for the work name of classical pieces). I further use the MultiLibrary plugin to create separate libraries for classical and for non-classical music. All menus for classical music created with CustomBrowse are restricted to the classical library. Since I have switched to 7.4.1 I have errors in the sever.log which seem to be related to CustomScan and CustomBrowse. I enclose my server.log file. Further, when now browsing my classical music all artists and all composers are listed three or even four times (see enclosed screenshot for artists). This happens in all my CustomBrowse classical menus (I have different menus for different browse structures) which contain artist or composer within a browse level. I have made several times a complete wipe and rescan of the library but this did not change anything. I enclose a copy of my klassik-interpreten.cb.values.xml file (with appended .txt since xml-files cannot be uploaded) which creates a browsing structure like Classical - artist - album - work - track Finally, I have also a CustomBrowse menu structure like Classical - album - work - track This menu does not work anymore but behaves differently on the web interface and on the real squeezebox. When I click in the web interface on the album link, nothing happens. When I press RIGHT on the remote on the album level, the squeezebox is showing the next level, which should be a list of my classical albums. However not only my classical albums are shown, but the list comprises in the first line one classical album name, in the next line one non-classical album name, the next line is empty, the next line is the next classical album name, the next line is a non-classical album name, the next line is again empty, and so on. I enclose a copy of my corresponding klassik-alben.cb.values.xml file. It seems that each time when I select the album link an error message is generated in server.log. All menus worked well with SC 7.3.4 and previous versions. Is there anything else you need for tracking this problems? danco;468172 Wrote: I finally got SvrPowerControl working on my Mac. Also, though this may be much harder, is it possible to add extra scripts to the menu? The first request is really easy. Look at SrvrPowerCtrl's strings.txt file, find the appropriate string, and change it. The second one would be a little more difficult, but you'll learn a little perl syntax in the process: add an new custom action to the array of actions assembled in sub initActionItems in Menu.pm. It might look something like this: Code: push ( @{$g{aActions}}, { action = 'my_unique_action_id', actionid = 0x0004, menuindex = $menuindex++, menutext = My Action Name, message = My Action Message, dispblock = 0, getcommandargcoderef= undef, poweroffplayers = $g{prefs}-bPowerOffPlayers, gotosn = 0, checkblock = 1, cancelwait = $g{prefs}-nRegretDelay, cmdwait = 5, refreshwait = -1, stopsc = 0, setrtcwakeup= 0, command = sudo path_to_some_script.sh }, ); That new command will be hard coded into the plugin now and won't be modifiable via the settings page. But that's ok. Adding a new command AND the settings support is five times harder. Remember, you'll need to restart SC/SBS to see any changes you make to the strings or code. I've often thought that if KDF really abandons his ground-breaking ExecuteScript plugin, then it might make sense to redo SrvrPowerCtrl with an xml interface so that these sorts of modifications would be easy to accomplish and not require editing the actual plugin code. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
Thanks. It is because Execute Script is no longer supported (though currently still works, but I have some issues with it) that I have been investigating SvrPowerControl. It would be good if over time you could develop it further. It's good to know that changing the menu names is easy, and that adding an item is not too difficult. It might be nice if you could add, under the Idle Times section, a No Action item. Currently one has the choice of having idle players noticed, with an arbitrary action if they aren't idle and one the specified set of actions on Indle, or of having it turned off, so that enither indle nor non-idle are noticed. I can easily see a situation where one wants something to happen if a player is not idle (for instance, to ensure that the machine does not sleep) but does not want an action when the player is idle. In fact my computer has gone to sleep unexpectedly a few times recently, and I think this is the idle action kicking in, so I have had to turn this off. -- danco danco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=210 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

SlimNAS 1.4.99 Please update to 1.5.0. 1.4.99 had a bad bug. squeezeboxserver-7.4.0-28672-noCPAN.tgz I don't know what's wrong with this file, but it fails to untar even on my Mac. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: FindArt plugin beta
I'm running new server 7.4 software on a windows XP machine and updated findart plugin to the latest version. Things worked smooth until I updated the firmware on the Controller. It has a new gui and I can't find a way to use Findart directly from the Controller anymore. The configuration (settings) area appears but I used to click the center button on the wheel when a song appeared without coverart to add (or scroll down on song info). How do I get to song info on the new GUI and choose Find Artwork? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Extension Downloader woes again
You shouldn't even see the TrackStat beta since there is a newer non beta 2.9 version which should be shown instead. After several restarts, it eventually seems to have installed the newer 2.9.1. Not sure what repository it pulled it from, or why I needed to restart so many times, but I seem to have it installed okay now through ED. However, I still have the problem with Song Info WebUI page not working with both DynamicPlaylist and SQL Playlist installed. The exercise of trying to switch to ED for plugins that ED offers was to ensure I had the latest. It doesn't give me a lot of confidence that the latest is installed, so perhaps you could confirm that the versions I currently have are the latest available: Dynamic Playlists = v2.8 SQL Playlist = v2.5 Have you tried them with SbS v7.5.0? I just tried uninstalling CustomBrowse *Beta*, Custom Scan *Beta*, Multi Library *Beta* and Playlist Generator *Beta*, and reinstalling using ED, but after a restart they weren't installed. Further, SQL Playlist *Beta* was uninstalled. So, I selected all those plugins again and applied the change to install them, and rebooted the server. SbS reported that Plugin updates are available. Having opened Settings Plugins, it reported that I needed to restart to apply changes (note Update plugins automatically is unticked). I could see that those plugins had been installed except Custom Browse *Beta*, which had still not been installed, and no installed plugins were indicated as having updates available. I tried to install Custom Browse *Beta* again, and it restarted, and now that one seems to have been listed as Active, so I think I'm finally there with all your beta plugin versions installed with ED. Some other 3rd party plugins don't seem to be offered for SbS 7.5.0 - I guess there's a maxVersion check on the repository, so I still need manual installation for many plugins anyway. eg. MusicInfoSCR plugin isn't listed as available in ED under SbS 7.5.0, but I installed the latest version manually and it seems to work. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Still Having Problems with iTunes Update and 7.4
I updated to 2.7.1 of iTunes Update but I'm still having some problems. I have a Duet with 7.4 running on a Vista machine. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Extension Downloader woes again
It's a bug in Extension Downloader: https://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14657 It seems like for new plugin installations Extension Downloader always picks the plugin from the manually configured repository. I've removed the old *Beta* versions from the testing repository so if you uninstall all my plugins and open up the Plugins tab after the restart you shouldn't see any beta versions besides the MythTV and Mail plugins which still are beta. The other plugins should be available under the recommended or other lists and you should be able to install them, this includes Dynamic Playlist 2.8.1 which should solve your Song Info problem. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69247 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
