Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)

2020-06-28 Thread Michael Herger

Maybe it's because I just use this LMS for Spotty? Should I have at
least one local music file?

It's just warnings, no problem besides cluttering the log file. I've
wanted to remove that irritating warning before...

Do you have some telemetry in Spotty or there is some statistics

In the dev console there's very basic charts with requests per endpoint

When you go back to the dev portal you can click your application. Might

The app is a simple web-view wrapper, whose main propose is to load the
skin. There is no about dialog for the app, and new releases are
announced here.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS

2020-06-28 Thread DavJon

Hi,

I am using ngrok for the proxy on a connected Windows machine, pointing
to my LMS, which is on a Synology NAS. I have followed all the steps in
the smartskills.tech page up to the point of successfully testing the
browser, enabling mediaserver and account linking the skill. The last
step of actually using it with my Echo Dot, which I tried by saying
"Alexa ask Mediaserver what is playing", I get this response:

"Welcome to Mediaserver, so that the skill knows the path to your LMS
server, please complete the account linking process where you will enter
the connectivity details on a special landing page.."

Note, I have successfully done this already and have disabled and
re-enabled it again to be on the safe side. Ngrok appears to be running
as it says session on line.

Any suggestions on what might be going on?

I found the problem I think after hours and hours of head
banging...

It seem that the Android OS and Squeeze Commander or Orange Squeeze
doesn't play nice with the Naim and the UPnP plugin! Hence the
inconsistency whether the UPnP would function or not. So used my Wife's
iPad with iPeng installed for use. Then shutdown the server and
reinstalled LMS to back a non beta version, reset the Naim to default.
Then "POOF" everything function as designed! There is one only order
operation is needed under iOS environment. I must wake up the Naim using
their app then use iPeng for normal operations. The odd thing is that
Airplay will wake-up and function normally while using iPeng, but at the
reduce sample rate. Side note only Twonky Server function regardless
whether it was Android or iOS. I know Twonky it isn't LMS, but maybe
they have an enchantment to UPnP bridge?

Thanks

You could get your own client ID by going to

Is this because too many people are using Spotty (if I understand the

Too many users, or some bug triggering crazy number of requests. I guess
it's a combination of the two. When this happens I usually see a massive
increase of some random requests. Eg. a few days ago I saw a 12-15x
increase of "pause" requests (we're talking about hundreds of thousands
of those!). Totally doesn't make sense. But as this has happened a few
weeks ago already, I must assume there's a bug triggering this.

They all use shairport that requires it. Not that shairport is bad, but
an official product should get an Apple device license & code rather
