bpa;440100 Wrote: A new version of AlienBBC is available for beta testing. This beta is only available for 7.3.x and 7.4. The main aim of the beta is to support SqueezeCenter 7.4noweb-sqllite. An initial version of a new feature has been added to display station logo and provide Now Next information on live WMA (e.g. using More Radio menu) and RealAudio streams. This feature enables UK users to use the higher speed BBC WMA URLs and get program information. please provide feedback on this feature (e.g. not useful, make configurable, change layout) The Now Next information is put into the Artist and Album fields so on WebUI the Next info is displayed above the Now. On Squeezeplay - the next info will scroll after the Now on the Now playing display. There a few bug fixes to show program information again when playing Listen Again. INSTALLATION. 1. Add this repository to Extension Downloader http://alienbbc.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/testrepo.xml 2. A new entry will appear offering AlienBBC upgrade to 2.6b1-7.3. Select and click Apply. 3. Restart SC After restart, if AlienBBC does not have a BBC Live Streams - WMA menu then go to AlienBBC Plugins settings and click Reset menu. It worked without any problems on SC 7.3.4 (latest nightly) on Ubuntu 9.04. Tested on Boom, Duet and Classic and all scroll the text OK. Useful enhancement. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CDplayer plugin
bpa;372578 Wrote: The update to CDplayer for Squeezecenter 7.3 is ready and can be installed using the Extension Downloader (ED) a new feature of 7.3 which is accessed through Settings/Plugins/Extension Downloader/settings. Install instructions for CDplayer plugin are below following some explanation about the ED. ABOUT EXTENSION DOWNLOADER The Extension Downloader (ED) is an automated method for installing, updating and removing plugins, applets, InfoBrowser Addons etc from repositories. Currently the public repository is small but it will be expanded to hold popular/recommended plugins etc. Currently most Plugins are in private repositories and the user will have add URLs to the Additional Repositories list. The CDplayer is in my repository at URL. URLs for other repositories can be found here http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezeCenter_Repositories Feedback on the functionality, ease of use, shortcoming, problems etc on ED is needed so that it can be improved for the next release. TO INSTALL CDPLAYER PLUGIN 1. If you have a version of the CDplayer plugin already installed in SC 7.3 then it needs to be deleted and SC restarted SC. 2. Open SC Setting/Plugins/Extension Downloader/Settings 3. Add this URL http://bpaplugins.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/repo.xml to Additional Repositories and click Apply. 4. A list of Plugins should be displayed. Check the box opposite the CDplayer plugin and click apply. 5. If Installation is successful - restart SC. The Extension Downloader does not install plugins into the server/Plugins or the server/Slim/Plugin directory. It will install plugin into a new directory called InstalledPlugin in Sc's cache directory. The path to the SC cache directory can be found on the Settings/Information web page near the bottom of the page. Using ED is the preferred installation method but if the user really wants to install manually from a zip file then the CDplayer plugin is available from the following location http://code.google.com/p/bpaplugins/downloads/list Yeah, that worked OK using the extension loader on Ubuntu 8.04 SC7.3 latest -- Ramage T5500 1.6GHz, SC 7.2-22869 Win Vista, Alien 2.0 P4 2.6GHz, SC 7.3-23688 WinXP, Alien 2.2b1-7.3 P2 266MHz, ubuntu server 8.10 SC 7.4~24341 Alien 2.4a2-7.3 AMD64x2 ubuntu 8.04, SC 7.3-24343, Alien 2.4a2-7.3 Ramage's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5343 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=47288 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] PocketSqueeze: Preview release now available
shawkie;279153 Wrote: Installing the PocketPC application: Copy the CAB and INF files onto the PocketPC (doesn't really matter where). You can then use Pocket Explorer to install it. I can't remember if its the CAB or the INF file you need to select but it should then ask for permission to install the package. It won't create any shortcuts but it should have installed the application to \Program Files\PocketSqueeze and you can use Pocket Explorer to run it. Setting up the PocketPC registry settings: PocketSqueeze uses some registry entries to tell it where to find the database and how to contact the server. I used CeRegEditor to set these up. You just make sure you have ActiveSync running and connected to your PocketPC and then run CeRegEditor on your desktop and you can then modify the PocketPC registry. The screenshot shows the keys that you need to create. Setting up the database: The easiest way to start is to just use the complete sample database. I normally put it in \CF Card\PocketSqueeze. Note that the server IP address (192.168.1.5 in my case) is automatically appended to the path specified in the registry when PocketSqueeze looks for the database. Also note that you should use the server IP address and not hostname because PocketPC doesn't seem to do WINS hostname lookup. Obviously this database won't match your music collection but if you get it to display lists of artists, albums, etc. then you're most of the way there. You can then use the database tool to create your own database. You will need to combine the result with the images directory of the sample database. Running the database tool: I forgot to mention that you need the MySQL connector to run the database tool. If it all works as it should then you should end up with a pocketsqueeze.db and an artwork directory. You can download a browser for SQLite to check that the information in the database looks okay. Final notes: I'm not sure how it will behave if you are using the builtin Various Artists feature. I have renamed it to something like KJHGFHGKFDHK in my SlimServer configuration to effectively disable it. Everything is controlled using the direction pad and center button at the moment. I'm planning to add screen tapping soon. I will be needing quite a lot of button images at some point so please let me know if you can help. When I removed the ID3v2.3 tags with foobar, I found the tracks played. I then reset all the tags to 1d3v1 and ID3v2.4 UTF8, and they worked. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien 1.06 won't play WMA on linux
WMA tracks will not play on Softsqueeze using Linux This problem has been reported before - http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25117, and is due to a problem on mplayer.sh. There are 2 solutions, both given by bpa on thread 25117 post #7 if you use Mplayer pre8, or by modifying mplayer.sh as attached (download and delete .txt). Could one or both solution be included in next Alien release? +---+ |Filename: mplayer.sh.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1807| +---+ -- Ramage P2 266MHz,Linux CC 3.2, SlimServer Version: 6.5.1 - 10145, Alien 1.06 P4 2.6GHz, Win XP, Slimserver Version: 6.5.1 - 10147, Alien 1.06 Ramage's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5343 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=28402 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
