For another user with similar 404 problem - I found one possibility was
that there can be only one Plugins and on Plugin directory in any
of the subdirectories of Slim - otherwise you will get this error. This
can happen if you had a few attempts to install a plugin and it unzipped
 into the wrong directory.

Also for some unknown reason - after deleting the extra directories,
the PC needs to be rebooted and not just SC restarted. It may be
worthwhile deleting plugin-data.yaml from cache as well before reboot.

Can you be clearer, do you mean there can't be a folder called Plugins
or Plugin within Squeezecenter\Server\? as within
Squeezecenter\Server\Slim there is a folder called Plugin which has all
the offical plugins. Is this where it is supposed to be installed?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC not working with SC7 upgrade ?

2008-05-22 Thread mattybain

I have been trying to install Alien BBC on my computer

SqueezeCenter Version: 7.1 - 19705 @ Wed May 14 19:43:37 PDT 2008 -
Windows Server 2003 - EN - cp1252
Server IP address: 192.168.0.2
Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt
Platform Architecture: 586
Hostname: musicserver
Server Port Number: 9000
Total Players Recognized: 4

I used the automated install process for windows and whilst the Mplayer
test worked nothing appears in SC7.01

Clicking on plugins settings comes up with the 404 Not Found:
settings/plugins/Alien/settings/basic.html error message.

Now I have checked the installation location of the plugin and it seems
fine being ProgramFiles / SqueezeCenter / server / Plugins / Alien

What could be wrong? the 404 message suggests the plugin is looking in
completely the wrong place.

However LastFM is not working properly, no sound comes out and it keeps

Also it doesn't appear to be scroblling local music.

These could both be LastFM issues, I will keep testing and get back to

No this is not typical, sounds like something is badly wrong. Does it
work properly whilst it is open? or is it unusable.

On preferences there is a Use debug file option, maybe if you tried

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.58 (slimserver windowsfront end)

Yey it works brilliantly.

Just two minor tweaks if possible, firstly the library window doesn't
remember it's settings after you close it down (the frames go back to
their original size). This is important as in full screen mode on the
N800 the only way to switch back from the library is to close it down.

Also could you make it so that the artist frame is automatically
selected when you switch to library. The left right up down should work
straight away instead of having to click on the frame to activate them.

Not really too bothered by these as it already works fantastically, as
I said just minor tweaks.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Moose 0.57 , Nokia 800 and rdesktop

2007-08-15 Thread mattybain

Actually there is one simple change that would solve most of the
problems with selecting tracks from the library.

Would it be possible to change the behaviour of the left and right keys
whilst in the library window? currently both up and left make the
selection go up and right and down make it go down.

What I would like is for up and down to stay the same but left and
right to switch frame.

For example if you press right whilst in the artist list you go to the
album frame, if in the album frame you go to track frame, if in track
frame you go to artist frame and the reverse for left.

This would enable a kick ass navigation of the library on the N800.

Okay I will shut up in a minute. However I was just wondering if the
sensitivity to mouse clicks was set by Moose. I have found that on the
recent versions I will inadvertently double click on a album or song by
mistake wiping my current playlist.

However now using the Nokia 800 it happens everytime I click on
something.

Is it possible to make it less sensitive? if not is there another way
of adding a song to the playlist (i.e. turning off the left click = add
function)

It should also remember the splitter position on shutdown..

Also, do you know about the text size stuff in the options ? If you
 change
the fonts for the labels in the nowplaying, it takes note of the sizes

it in the font dialog. Maybe setting the sizes smaller will help get
 more info

Yep I now about the font sizing, doesn’t really help.

If you dock the library in the nowplaying window, it'll work much
 better in full

Not really an option, there is no space down there for the library,
would be much better if it remembered that it was in full mode and
stayed in after switching back from the library window.

 Yup, Tools-Preferences-Library tab-Enter key dropdown..

This affects both the enter key and double-clicking list items (which
is in effect what's happening I think)..

Set it to inactive and it should be less annoying.. The right-click

Ah yes I remember that function, problem is that I am not sure how to
right click in rdesktop on the Nokia 800, I will play with it again and
see if I can get it to behave.

 Hope that helps,

Yep, you are as helpful as ever, can’t wait to get this running

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Last FM caching of submissions

2006-11-29 Thread mattybain

Annoyingly my internet has been out of action for 1 week and is due to
be repaired tomorrow (fingers crossed).

Are LastFm submissions cached until a connection is obtained or have I
lost the last weeks submissions?

I have realised just how dependent I am on the internet now to the
point where I was way more bothered about the loss of internet than the
loss of phone (and annoyingly due to legislation the phone was restored
within 6 hours)

Thanks to James for developing this plugin it is amazing, if you
haven't used LastFM then you must as it is brilliant. I have discovered

That has never worked for me either but you should see all your

expand Server and then Playlists. You should be able to load the
playlist by double clicking on it or right clicking then add/insert
etc.

However I admit that this is a pain when you make a couple of changes
and want to resave. You can just type in the name and it will copy over
the old playlist.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I was running 6.31 and it
was getting almost impossible to use. The main problem was that the now
playing playlist wouldn't update very quickly and sometimes wouldn't at
all.

Anyway I have bitten the bullet and gone to 6.5b1 which isn't without
it's issues but moose seems much more responsive and is now useable
again.

However I seem to have lost cover art and this means that the time bar
doesn't work properly. Basically where the time bar would have been if
there had been cover art works however the time bar where cover art
used to be doesn't. This means it is only possible to skip to the last
half of the song. I hope this makes sense!!

Not a huge issue and at least I can use Moose again!

** JIT Debugging **
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

configuration
system.windows.forms jitDebugging=true /
/configuration

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Ah, thanks - I only had version 0.30.

Just tried 0.31, and I'm still struggling a bit with the player
 selection.

In the Now Playing window, I can see a Player menu, which now has my
three players listed. The first one in the list is selected. However,
I can't change the selection to one of my other players.

Just out of interest have you tried clicking on the other player
multiple times? it takes me about five clickes on the new player to
actually get it to change.

Hurrah the old icon is back, long live the Moose!!

Is there any chance of getting it to support more than 2 players at
once?

 New version's just gone up:

display info on new tracks as they start playing via a popup window in
the bottom right of the screen.

This is awesome, would it be possible to make it pop up for slightly
longer or maybe give an option to change the length of time?

This is a really solid piece of software, do you not think it is time
to crank up the release number? surely you are at least 0.5 now? 0.28
IMHO suggests that it is some sort of experimental software which it
clearly is not.

As always great job, I hope someone at SD has expressed gratitude for
the work that you are doing.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Media Centre Squeezebox

2006-01-03 Thread mattybain

There was talk of a plugin being developed http://tinyurl.com/9lxw5 but
I don't think it got anywhere.

Is it possible to stream the output of MCE2005? if so you would
probably be able to stream the output to a Squeezebox and effectively
control the music from the MCE2005.

However changing the music for different SB's would be hard.

Have you seen Moose? http://www.rusticrhino.com/drlovegrove/

Would you be interested in a version of this optimised for HTPC's. I
wonder if we could get Dr Lovegrove to optimise the dispay for a HTPC
computer. What I am thinking is changing the interface to make it
larger and slicker for lower resolution long distance viewing.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Last.FM plugin

2005-10-25 Thread mattybain

The lastfm plugin is fully functional and acts just like the stand alone
player.

I have been having problems with the web interface but the latest
verison seems to have fixed it (0.8.6).

What you should see is the radio stream you are listening to, the song,
the artist some cover art, recently played,Commands (skip ban love),all
your radio stations set up and finally a link to settings and refresh
session (whatever that does).

What more could you possibly want?

If the link isn't working then you will see very little on the screen
other than press play to start lastfm (or something like that).

I would suggest you install the latest version and then check your
settings.
