[pws] Convert old Swiki and authentication

2003-01-13 Thread Robin Rosenberg
Hi,

We have an old swiki with upload directories. Can I somehow upgrade it to the a new
Swiki. The newer swikis
do not have these directories.

Acceptable solutions are:
Move/copy attachements to the pages that refer to them
Renabling directories in the upload section.
We have about a thousand pages and threw years of work so I want an automatic
solution.

and two: Can I have PAM authentication under Linux ?

three: Can I see the user name instead of machine. Most accesses are routed throug a
firewall
so the name of the firewall is quite uninteresting.

Theoretically, you can control maximum upload size, but it is not
implemented yet. I'm working on something in that direction though.

Peace and Luck!

recently there have been quite a couple of people

with a password. Nevertheless it might be nicer
to be able to control the maximum upload size.
 Is this possible in principle?

In short, the annoying users are using Swikis just as they are intended!
Swikis are a free-form place to collaborate, including the posting of
files. The difference is that these guys aren't bothering to get their
*own* swiki, and instead are hitchiking on someone else's. Everything
you cut from the bad users, you also cut from the good ones.

agreed. we could write code that allows to filter
only Jennifer Lopez movie clips.
I mentioned that just because it might well become
worse and I prefer to keep the community open generally.

fotos are not as bad, they are not 300 Mb in size.
