Re: [ql-users] Fw: Old school QL programmers
So where in our Sunny state is Peter residing? Is he in the Bay Area? Tim Swenson I'm afraid he didn't say, all he said was been in California for 10 years now writing violent video games and enjoying the weather and missing the pubs. -- Dilwyn Jones -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Re: [ql-users] QL Roms

He would like to try some old QL games but he did not find the QL roms. Are they available somewhere for downloaed? Ciao Davide Try: www.dilwyn.uk6.net/qlrom/index.html Includes an Italian ROM if your contact is Italian. If anyone has any other national QL ROM, please send me a copy for me to add to my website. Minor point, please be aware that although we can distribute QL ROMs for no profit like this, we must remember that the ROMs (or ROM images) remain the copyright of the copyright holder for the region concerned. I respectfully request that nobody abuses this situation and causes us not to be able to legally distribute and use these QL ROM images! -- Dilwyn Jones -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Re: [ql-users] unzip and signal extensions
By the way, before anyone suggests the obvious on this, I know that it is simple to load the signal extensions but I personally don't like to load up extra stuff that I don't need and don't use. And I really don't want to ask QDT users to do it. jim On Nov 20, 2005, at 3:59 PM, James Hunkins wrote: The last version of the unzip program that I found has two problems, one of which commonly confuses users who are installing QDT for a zipped source. 1) an error message that does not cause a real error *** SIGNAL extension not loaded *** 2) doesn't always open a window when run, but is running anyway, just not starting - running it a second time usually opens a new window/case of unzip, along with the original - this is more common on the zip_exe than on unzip_exe The version number of unzip is 5.20 of 30 April 1996. It saws that it is maintained by Greg Roelofs. Does anyone know if Greg (or someone else) is still working on this? Is he the owner of the QL port or the generic source that it is ported from. It would be good to get these two things fixed. They don't stop the use of the programs (which are for all other aspects as far as I can tell excellent and very reliable), but as I said, it is confusing to several users (it is my biggest reported problem for QDT). [ql-users] regional QL user check - eastern Canada
Just out of curiosity, are there any QL users in the area (Toronto, Canada) that I recently moved to? Nearby are Niagra Falls and Buffalo, New York. While not as convenient, would also be interested if anyone was even a bit further but within a day's drive? Cheers, jim ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
