I was taught CECIL in school with its 14 commands. It was very basic indeed, we had to write our program down on pre-printed coding sheets and they'd be sent off to the guild hall in Swansea to be typed into a large ICL . Two weeks later we had the results. Luckly for me, all of my programs worked first time otherwise they'd be a two week delay before you had another go !
