I would argue it is a 2-bit processor that can't stand 1 bit of competition ;) Dave On Sun, Jan 26, 2014 at 2:13 PM, Alexandre Souza alexandre.tabaj...@gmail.com wrote: Just a shameless plug for a blog post I've just written... ;-) http://www.lingula.org.uk/wordpress/2014/01/25/its-been- 30-years-since-the-announcement-of-an-important-computing-product/ 4 bit intel processor?! ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm -- Dave Park Sandy Electronics, LLC d...@sinclairql.com ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
Re: [Ql-Users] Microdrive pinch rollers: Any sources out there?
If you need some cartridges to use as part of the display - let me know and I can let you have some of my better ones - I have a few which seem to be in good condition - although not sure how long they will last. One suggestion is to apply glue to the felt pad before it splits - has anyone tried this? I did. Got some old cassete tapes (brand new, pre-recorded tapes from an english course), took off the pads, cut into a suitable size and glued using cyanoacrilate glue on the place of the old pads. Works like a charm. ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm

8 microbits = 4 bits. As easy as that. Tobias, are you suggesting that American-made bits are like American measurements? The US gallon and pint are much smaller than the gallon and pint recognized by the rest of the world! Dave, well, the Intel bits were just about as american-made as the Motorola (RIP) bits. Still they were quite a lot smaller ;) But maybe we should solve that one - The poor guy 8749 _really_ was an 8-bit processor. And not the worst that Intel ever built. The successors are still around in the embedded industry. If in doubt, pick 8 of those: http://www.bitburger.de/produkte/bitburger-premium-pils/ (Really large, German-made bits) (Beware: Processing 32 of those bits is probably dangerous for your health. Also they come in packs of 24) Tobias (Promising to try and start being earnest tomorrow morning) Am 26.01.2014 um 22:28 schrieb Dave Park: Tobias, are you suggesting that American-made bits are like American measurements?
