[Ql-Users] QXL card
I have just pulled a QXL card from an Amstrad 386 which will not boot from the hard drive. How can I identify the card's version from the board alone? Christopher Cave mailto:cc...@cix.co.uk ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
[Ql-Users] Hello world QPC1
Hi I bought a new box for my DOS pc today and it is equipped with a CF adapter. This allows me to take the QXL.WIN files to my mac and transfer files to them. It also make the system i bit more silent, the hard drive I have sounds like a airplane. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15146505/IMG_20150724_161500.jpg (pic of pc) I have been installing software all day, my first thought was to go with the QL/E distribution, but too many things did not work. I kept that WIN file for source of programs but started on a fresh install. So far I have QPAC2 , various assembler related programs, memacs etc etc. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15146505/IMG_20150724_160142.jpg (pic of QPC1) It is weekend == more time for this :) Br Michael ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
Re: [Ql-Users] wtd: QXL2
Hi I have a QXL card I would not part with, but do have the problem of not having a working PC with an ISA slot. Anybody have a working PC or even a working mother card with a processor and ISA slot. My first thought was to use my Atari, but since it got a very limited screen it is a little bit hard to use. I also found a DOS capable pc celeron 400Mz , so I tried QPC1. That worked very well , but seems to be limited to SMSQ/E 2.98. So I think I am out for a QXL 2 card, if that still works with recent SMSQ/E. So I wonders if anyone here have a card to sell me? Michael BTW, Many years ago I sold a Q40 to someone on this list. Hello , are you still here? Ah, that sounds like a challenge: QLs always, well looked like QLs. So people have kept them and not thrown them out. Apart from the fact that there weren’t that many built, I guess quite a lot of QXL cards might have shared their PC’s fate and went to the dump unnoticed - It’s just not easy to realize you’ve got something special here….. Re: [Ql-Users] Hello world QPC1
I had problems with QPAC2 (complaining about old WMAN), but now I see that there are more than one version. I ended up installing QPAC2 from my old floppies. :) On 24 July 2015 at 20:21, ql q...@bluewin.ch wrote: Nice! Even I don't had QPC1 and SMSQ/E 2.9x in mind while developing the QL/E BOOT program, I think all possible quirks (unsupported things like QLSSS) can be resolved by adding an additional IF here and there. Desktops can be switched off/on using the command QLE_CFG. I tested QL/E under QPC2, SMSQmulator and on my QXL. Reports (of what you like or of what is not working) and Benchmark (TINDEX) results welcomed.
