Having playing around with setting up windows the old fashioned way (program 
submitted in the future)

I came across this bug (feature)!

try this first

WM_BORDER 25, 1026 

and even edged 3d type border

now try this

WM_BORDER 0,1026

And the 3D borders available with WM_BORDER in the new window manager 
don't get used that much after Marcel went to all the hard work to 
implement them.


I remember having fun and games with unexpected results many years 
ago on a Spectrum - drawing arcs, I think, which resulted in 
Spirograph-style shapes if you used extreme values of the angle 
(third) parameter of a Spectrum DRAW command. IIRC, it calculated 
several dots on the 'arc' and tried to join them with straight lines. 
But this got a bit out of hand if you used very large values for the 
angle!
