Thank you, I will pass on the information. I had a similar request yesterday. Here's what I suggested: A fresh install into an empty WIN file doesn't make much sense, as then QDT finds no apps and all folders are empty. QDT is almost useless then. There's already a preconfigured WIN file with a full installation of QDT on The Distribution. Especially for novices (and all other people) there's the QL/E environment in the folder \THE_DISTRIBUTION\qle\. It holds a fresh (April 2015) WIN file with many apps and a fresh (April 2015) full installation of QDT. That's exactly what's been asked for, isn't it? Just start the QPC2.exe in that folder and your fresh QDT is running. If you want to install QDT on your existing WIN file, you'll find the installation package (QDTINST110r_zip) in folder \THE_DISTRIBUTION\xcl\qdt\Redist\. Just follow the instructions in the README.txt file of the folder \THE_DISTRIBUTION\xcl\qdt\. I did several fresh installations with that installation sequence. Full QDT documentation can be found in the folders \THE_DISTRIBUTION\xcl\qdt\Documentation\ (as Text files) and \THE_DISTRIBUTION\qle\Documentation\ (as PDF files) plus the whole documentation package (PDF and Text files) as a ZIP file in \THE_DISTRIBUTION\xcl\qdt\Redist\QDT Release 1.10 User Documentation.zip. There's no need to install the documentation inside a WIN file. BTW: For experts there a config option in QL/E which can be invoked by the command QLE_CFG to fine-tune this environment (e.g. enable or disable certain desktops). I will release a quick guide for that sometime to help novices. Urs ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm ___ QL-Users Mailing List http://www.q-v-d.demon.co.uk/smsqe.htm
Re: [Ql-Users] Ql-Users Digest, Vol 134, Issue 16
Since the GA 4 weeks ago I released two updates. Latest release is from today. See: I've created a cumulative incremental delta update package of version 3.02 (32 MB ZIP file) for those who have already downloaded (and installed) v3.01 (GA, 11.04.2015) or v3.01A (29.04.2015). Just unzip this ZIP file at your storage location of the unzipped distribution and confirm to overwrite existing files. The download link for the update is on The Sinclair QL Repository website which has been updated today: http://www.sinclairql.net/ QL forever! Torrent is a bad idea because of the risk that old versions are being shared. Since the GA 4 weeks ago I released two updates. Latest release is from today. See: http://www.sinclairql.net/repository.html#TheDistribution Torrent does have the advantage of incremental updates, you just point new torrent file at old data dir and it will only transfer new/changed files. Urs K?nig of COWO Enterprises LLC proudly releases QL IS 30 2014 - THE DISTRIBUTION for public download. This distribution is the successor to the QL Today 2013 The Final DVD which was sent out to subscribers in September 2013 with The Final Issue of the QL Today magazine. The new version holds everything which was on the DVD, but has been carefully updated and supplemented with new material - Urs has been able to add some real long lost gems and an exclusive new release of a formerly commercial package, QDT the ultimate QL desktop - created or preserved during the last few months. Altogether there are 4.7 GB of QL related documents, software and pictures on this distribution. Preconfigured QL emulators for use under Windows, Mac OS and even Linux make it easy to bring the QL (back) to your desk. Great ways to (re-)start programming for the QL or using QL programs. QL IS 30 2014 - THE DISTRIBUTION is free which means it can be downloaded, used and given to friends by anyone at no cost. If I get it that's what I would do, I already have in torrents a QL_docs.iso a SinclairUser and a ROMS-Sinclair ZX Spectrum torrent, they do see traffic, fairly regularly -- Paul Holmgren The history of liberty is a history of resistance.
