[ql-users] ACP error
Hi I have forgot to intruduce myself.. My name is Michael Grunditz , and i lives in a town called Uppsala just north of Stockholm the capital of Sweden. Im married and I have three kids. I work as a database/developer consultant for IMI. I dont us Wintel PC:s and my main home computer is a Kinetic RiscPC. The first time I saw a QL somewere in oktober last year , and now I got a Q40 and two original ql:s. And my english is terrible, you have to execuse me. And now to my question: Im trying to use ACP, but the program hangs on listing directory when I choose a zip file. If I prompt it to extract a file I get a window with ex unzip;-d. But then it stops, until I press the gun button. It was a problem of some kind with a particular version and pipes I also had the idea that it could have something to do with that and searched in my mail archive. It was an SMSQ/E issue, long before there even was an SMSQ/E for Q40. Marcel

Marcel Hi, Are you sure about the signal extension? I've never LRESPRed it and yet ACP works fine. The help file says you need at least the Extended Environment(PTR_GEN, Wman and Hot_rext) and Qlib_run (v3.36mod). Menu_rext is not indispensible but eases the use of ACP. François Van Emelen

Well, actually it works without it but then it wants to print a message that it is not loaded. On the limited Q40 graphics resolution the ACP window will usually be above the SBasic window, thus locking it, preventing unzip to show its message and ACP can wait forever for unzip to finish... this can look like a lockup. Of course in this case switching to SBasic and back should do the trick, too. Marcel
