RE: [ql-users] Mention in PC Plus

2002-11-11 Thread Norman Dunbar

Morning all,

I'll try to combine all replies into one email - I don't want to hog the
list :o)

MARCEL :

Wow, cool. Any chance to get a scan of your masterpiece? :-)
Not much of a masterpiece I'm afraid, merely a reply to a letter written by
someone who didn't quite know what he was talking about. However, I
managed to squeeze in a mention of QPC (and UQLx too) just as a 'by the way'
and the editor's response was - emulators, how interesting, does anyone
else use an emulator and for what - write in and we may feature your stuff.
I don't have the magazine any more (I'm not that vain !) but maybe someone
else still has it and will scan it for you.

Ah, training for the job as a technical writer for the SMSQ/E project,
jolly good :-)
Fraid not, I find it hard to find enough time to get articles written - I'm
behind as it is, but working on my article for the next issue. I'm expecting
the usual email from Dilwyn/Jochen to gee me up - don't worry gents, it's
coming !

MALCOLM :

 Let me have the address.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

If I ever get time I may write something for them.

WOLFGANG :

Well, I will,[write an article] but not living in the UK I will have
little impact.
I don't see why not. They publish letters from as far away as Australia.

DILWYN :

Aha...a possible future editor of QL Today perhaps ;-))
I think not! See above.

At the moment, the need for more contributors is probably more urgent
than editors!
It's coming, it's coming - honest !

Cheers,
Norman.

Thank you.

Tell him to get off his almost-as-big butt and write something for QL
Toady!

Like...a review of the London Quanta workshop between you perhaps ;-))

(please!)

Did I say that? Did I say that? I did say future ;-))

Seriously though, I can see there being a time when fresh blood and
fresh ideas might be good for the future of a QL magazine...I do
sometimes feel I'm not able to spend enough time on QL Today to do
justice. Jochen does sometimes have to bully me into speeding up
getting things done.

Lately, I've been doing QL CDs, Launchpad desktop program, various
smaller utilities, PD library...on top of a job I absolutely hate and
a wife who keeps saying she'd like to see more of me.

I will be editor as long as I'm needed or a better editor comes along.
But if there is a volunteer out there, speak to Jochen ;-)

At the moment, the need for more contributors is probably more urgent
than editors!
