Without any humor, is your drive clean? The drive I was using is the one for my PowerBook 3400c and I think it is clean, I did read a lot of other floppies with it recently with no problem. As to why I am using the PowerBook 3400c that is because it is the only Mac that I have with a working floppy. I have a Quadra 610 with a missing floppy and a G3 with a bad floppy and a G4 with no floppy. I wanted to try to install Excel 4.0 because, A. I have it and B. I was thinking it will work with my Quadra 610. Beige macs have a problem sometimes sucking dust-bunnies through the drive slots, either the cd or floppy, worth checking.
