Getting rid of crickets in your home is quite easy. There are several products on the market that aid in getting rid of these pests. The most effective and preferred ways of eradicating crickets in homes is the use of poisons or baits. There are also homemade solutions that are easy to do and are effective. Here are some of the common ways to get rid of them. a.. Bug Spray and Other Chemicals - The majority of bug sprays on the market are capable of killing crickets. There are also chemicals specifically made for crickets. These products are usually in liquid form. Spray or apply these chemicals in places where you hear or see cricket infestation. These chemicals are also dangerous to humans, so make sure you read the instructions before using any of them. b.. Cricket Bait - This is a more passive approach for getting rid of crickets. Simply leave the bait in places where there are crickets. Cricket bait is only for crickets, so make sure your pets or your children do not pick them up and eat them. If you are concerned with toxic chemicals, then you can make a homemade solution. Just half-fill a glass jar with molasses and place it near cricket-infested spots. Crickets are attracted to the smell of molasses so they jump in, only to drown in it. If you use this one method, make sure you clean it regularly. Dead crickets don't make good decorations. c.. [RecipesAndMore] Alabama Judge
Alabama Judge Some of you may be wondering what Judge Roy Moore has been doing since he was removed from the bench for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom wall. Please read the poem he wrote. It's below his picture. The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama .. Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice law in Alabama ! The judge's poem sums it up quite well. America the beautiful, or so you used to be. Land of the Pilgrims' pride; I'm glad they'll never see. Babies piled in dumpsters, Abortion on demand, Oh, sweet land of liberty; your house is on the sand. Our children wander aimlessly poisoned by cocaine choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain From sea to shining sea, our Nation turns away From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray We've kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown. When earth is but His footstool, and Heaven is His throne. We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core, Appointing Godless Judges; who throw reason out the door, Too soft to place a killer in a well deserved tomb, But brave enough to kill a baby before he leaves the womb. You think that God's not angry, that our land's a moral slum? How much longer will He wait before His judgment comes? How are we to face our God, from Whom we cannot hide? What then is left for us to do, but stem this evil tide? If we who are His children, will humbly turn and pray; Seek His holy face and mend our evil way: Then God will hear from Heaven; and forgive us of our sins, He'll heal our sickly land and those who live within. But, America the Beautiful, If you don't - then you will see, A sad but Holy God withdraw His hand from Thee. ~~Judge Roy Moore~~ This says it all. May we all forward this message and offer our prayers for Judge Moore to be blessed and for America to wake up and realize what we need to do to keep OUR America the Beautiful. Pass this on and let's lift Judge Moore up in Prayer. He has stood firm and needs our support. Question Hi Folks, I thought I would just take a moment to wish everyone a most blessed and joyous Easter. I'm cooking today. My menu is ham, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and onion--a big one-pot meal. I've made a Fruit Cocktail Cake for dessert--never tried it but I do like to try new things--variety is the spice of life--for some, at least. Well, what is everyone's favorite Easter candy? I like Hershey's candy-coated eggs. This year I tried some Cadbury Candy-Coated eggs. They are good too. I also like coconut cream eggs--they are about the size of a candy bar. Yum, yum. [RecipesAndMore] Happy Easter:
Wishing everyone a very happy and joyous Easter. Hope you are spending it with a good friend or family. No mattter where you are hope your day is a great one. Mike and I are having his two 80 plus aunts and an elderly uncle over. I have barbecued ribs cooking in the crockpot, asparagus in a pot ready to be cooked, baked beans in a casserole in the microwave waiting to be heated, cabbage salad in the fridge and pineapple upsidedown cake with homemade whipped cream for dessert. Not sure what the relatives are bringing if anything, but no big deal if they come empty-handed. It is a time for sharing with others and that is what we are doing. it is nice to have the house with enough space that we can have company over to enjoy a meal. The aunts live alone and the uncle is in a nursing home so it's a treat for all of them to be here. We are also blessed to have our retired guide dogs here until the 20th. Since they will be twelve-years-old this May and June it could be there last visit. Tuesday my current guide dog goes to the vet for esxtensive x-rays of her elbow, back, shoulder and hips to see why she can't curve her back, put pressure on her right front leg and is having other physical problems. If it is able to be helped with medication I'll go that route. However it looks like it is more serious and she'll have to take an early retirement. Not sure what I'll do with her if that is the case, but will cross that road if and when it happens. Anyway, we are just going to enjoy the day with the family and with our four-legged friends. Hope you all will be doing the same. Actually, it's google groups. And I think it's easier than yahoo groups. The problem is you might have trouble hearing the thing you'd have to hear. We could register you with both yahoo groups and google groups. You know how to get in touch. -Original Message- From: RecipesAndMore@googlegroups.com [mailto:recipesandm...@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Sandra Warren Sent: Sunday, April 12, 2009 12:49 AM To: RecipesAndMore@googlegroups.com Subject: [RecipesAndMore] Re: HOW TO GET RID OF CRICKETS Okay, Jan, sounds like a good idea. are many here registered with yahoo groups? - Original Message - From: Jan z...@elirion.net To: RecipesAndMore@googlegroups.com Sent: Saturday, April 11, 2009 3:22 PM Subject: [RecipesAndMore] Re: HOW TO GET RID OF CRICKETS I don't think Sandy is registered with yahoo groups so she can't get into the group archives. Dead crickets don't make good decorations. c.. Cricket Traps - Cricket traps are best used outside the house to prevent them from coming in. They can be placed near windows and doors, or in those small crevices where crickets can sneak in. d.. Pest Control - If cricket infestation gets too out of hand or you are just too lazy to do any cricket hunting, then call in the pros to do the job for you. Before using any of these methods, a little research won't hurt. Search the Internet to determine which of these methods is best for your situation. Also, make sure that you do some regular general cleaning in your house. This can help you determine if you already have cricket infestations in your home before they start eating through your stuff. Cricket-Proofing Your Home No matter how hard you try or how expensive the chemicals you use, if your home can easily be infested by these pests, your efforts will be worthless. To make sure that no brave cricket finds its way into your home and into your closets, you must make your home cricket-proof - this means blocking off

Answers 1) In 1859, George Gilman and George Huntington Hartford had the revolutionary idea to buy tea from boats at the dock, and sell it directly to the consumer from a store near the docks. They were able to dramatically reduced the price consumers paid for tea by eliminating several middlemen. Soon they were doing the same with coffee, spices, canned goods and other products. Hartfords son John came up the the revolutionary idea in 1912 to eliminate telephone orders, deliveries, credit accounts and clerks that weighed everything to order for each customer. In the new stores, there would be only one clerk, everything would be sold for cash, and customers would get their own food from the shelves and carry it home themselves!
