Faith Hill, Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus Added to Inaugural Events

Faith Hill, Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus have been added to the list of 
performers appearing at events surrounding next week's inauguration of Barack 
Obama as president. Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus will perform during Kids' 
Inaugural: We Are the Future, a TV concert special honoring military families, 
airing Monday (Jan. 19) at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the Disney Channel. The event will 
also feature the Jonas Brothers, actress-singer Demi Lovato, Bow Wow, Keke 
Palmer, Usher and Shaquille O'Neal. Hill is scheduled to appear at The 
Neighborhood Ball: An Inauguration Celebration, a special airing Tuesday (Jan. 
20) at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Joining Hill are Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Mariah 
Carey, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Shakira and Stevie Wonder. As previously reported, 
Garth Brooks and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles will perform Sunday (Jan. 18) at 
the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., during a concert to be televised on 
HBO. Others appearing at the Lincoln Memorial include Sheryl Crow, John 
Mellencamp, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Bono, Mary J. Blige, Josh Groban, 
Herbie Hancock and John Legend.

Hall of Fame Member Little Jimmy Dickens Recuperating From Brain Surgery

Country Music Hall of Fame member Little Jimmy Dickens is recuperating after 
undergoing brain surgery Tuesday (Jan. 13) in Nashville. The 88-year-old Grand 
Ole Opry member had been diagnosed with a subdural hematoma, a clot created 
when blood vessels tear and blood accumulates in the space between the brain 
and its protective covering within the skull. Another Country Music Hall of 
Fame member, Charley Pride, underwent similar surgery in 2004. Dickens was 
inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1983 and recently celebrated his 60th 
anniversary as an Opry member.

Country Weekly Goes Weekly (Again), Drops Subscriptions

Country Weekly magazine will return to a weekly format starting in February, 
but it will discontinue all current subscriptions, AdAge.com reports. Instead, 
the periodical will be sold exclusively on retail racks for $2.49 -- a dollar 
less than its current issue price. It is projected to sell approximately 75,000 
copies per issue on newsstands, according to AdAge.com. The periodical, which 
has been published every two weeks over the last few years, is owned by 
American Media, which also publishes National Enquirer, Shape and Star 
magazines.

Kenny Chesney Will Perform on Grammy Awards

Kenny Chesney is among the first round of performers announced for the Grammy 
Awards, which will air live from Los Angeles on CBS on Feb. 8. He is nominated 
for best country collaboration with vocals for "Shiftwork," a duet with George 
Strait. Other performers include Coldplay, Jonas Brothers, Lil Wayne and Katy 
Perry. Additional performers, presenters and special segments will be announced 
in the coming weeks.
