Keith Urban Reveals 58 Cities of North American Tour

Keith Urban has revealed the 58 cities for his summer tour, but no specific 
dates have been announced. A full list of U.S. and Canadian cities is available 
on his Web site. The tour will launch in May. Urban will release a new album, 
which has not yet been titled, on March 31. Supporting acts on the tour -- with 
one per show -- include Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Glen Campbell, Lady 
Antebellum, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and the Zac Brown Band.

Dierks Bentley Invited to Play Apple Store in New York City

Dierks Bentley will participate in iTunes' Live From Soho series on Jan. 12 at 
the Apple Store in that New York City neighborhood. He will perform eight new 
tracks. Fans will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. The only 
other country artist who has taken part in the series is Taylor Swift. Bentley 
will begin his tour with Brad Paisley on Jan. 15 near Memphis, Tenn. He will 
release a new album, Feel That Fire, on Feb. 3 on Capitol Nashville.

Taylor Swift to Sing on Saturday Night Live

Taylor Swift will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on Saturday (Jan. 
10). The show will be hosted by actor Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your 
Mother). Other country artists who have performed on Saturday Night Live 
include Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Dolly Parton and Carrie Underwood. Swift was 
the best-selling album artist of 2008 in all formats, selling more than 4 
million albums.

Brad Paisley Among Surprise Stars at Jonas Brothers Concert

Brad Paisley and Martina McBride were among the surprise performers at the 
Jonas Brothers concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Sunday night 
(Jan. 4). Paisley joined the pop trio to sing "Waitin' on a Woman" and "Easy 
Money," while McBride stepped on stage to perform "Independence Day," as well 
as one of the Jonas Brothers songs, "When You Look Me in the Eyes." Tim McGraw 
and Faith Hill introduced the band. Other musical guests included Vince Gill 
and Phil Vassar, as well as Stephen Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith

Rascal Flatts Confirmed for People's Choice Performance

Rascal Flatts have been added to the list of performers at the 35th annual 
People's Choice Awards taking place Jan. 7 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los 
Angeles. As previously announced, Carrie Underwood will also perform on the 
show. Rascal Flatts and Underwood are each nominated in two categories. In 
addition to a nomination for favorite group, Rascal Flatts received a favorite 
country song nomination for "Take You There." Underwood, up for favorite female 
singer, also received a favorite country song nomination for "Last Name." Other 
country nominees for the fan-voted awards include Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley 
and Taylor Swift. The show will air live on CBS.

Robert Plant Honored by Queen Elizabeth II

Robert Plant has been named a Commander of the Order of the British Empire as 
part of the traditional New Year Honors list issued by Queen Elizabeth II. He 
is one of several musicians recognized for their service to music. Best known 
for his work as the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, Plant's 2007 collaboration 
with Alison Krauss, Raising Sand, has spawned Grammy nominations for album of 
the year, record of the year, best contemporary folk/Americana album, best pop 
collaboration with vocals and best country collaboration with vocals. Jazz 
musician Courtney Pine is also receiving a CBE, and singer-songwriter John 
Martyn is being made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire. The queen 
presents the honors to reward excellence across the various sectors of British 
industry and culture.

Bluegrass Preservation Society Sets Awards Show for Feb. 15

The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America will hold its 
national convention and annual awards show Feb. 12-15 at the Sheraton Music 
City Hotel in Nashville. Among the acts scheduled to perform at the awards show 
on Feb. 15 are Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, the Grascals, Ronnie Bowman, IIIrd 
Tyme Out, Nothin' Fancy, Grasstowne and Rarely Herd (who will also host the 
ceremonies). Bands appearing at other events during the convention include the 
Daughters of Bluegrass, the James King Band, Tim Graves & Cherokee, Paul 
Williams & the Victory Trio, Randy Waller & the Country Gentlemen, Ronnie Reno 
& the Reno Tradition, Chris Jones & the Night Drivers, the Williams & Clark 
Expedition, Melvin Goins & Windy Mountain, the Larry Stephenson Band and the 
Mark Newton Band.
