Charlie Robison Plans June 23 Release for New Album
Tue. March 10.2009 4:26 PM EDT

Charlie Robison will release his first album in five years, Beautiful Day, on
June 23 on Dualtone Records. Robison wrote much of the album during his divorce
from Emily Robison of the Dixie Chicks, which was finalized in August. His
cover of Bruce Springsteen's "Racing in the Streets" closes the album. "When
I was writing this record, I was going through the quintessential divorce thing
of living in a one-bedroom apartment in downtown San Antonio across from
the bus station," Robison says. "When it's over, it's over." Other selections
include "Reconsider," "Down Again," "Nothin' Better to Do" and the title
track.
