Carrie Underwood Remakes Mötley Crüe Hit for American Idol
Mon. March 09.2009 3:43 PM EDT

Carrie Underwood has recorded a version of Mötley Crüe's Home Sweet Home for
American Idol. Starting on Wednesday (March 11), the song will be played
when contestants are voted off the show and will be available as a digital
single on iTunes on March 16. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Humane
Society of the United States (HSUS). I've always loved this song, and besides
being very fitting for Idol, to me, the title is also very fitting with
animal rescue and finding animals their own homes, Underwood said. So we felt
it was important to tie the release into an amazing animal charity like
the HSUS. Underwood won American Idol in 2005.

Doyle Lawson Quicksilver Lineup Changes
Fri. March 09.2007 6:01 PM EST

Three members of IBMA-award winning bluegrass band Doyle Lawson Quicksilver
are leaving. Terry Baucom (banjo) and Mike Hartgrove (fiddle) have been replaced
by Chris Warner and Alan Johnson, respectively. I don't like changes when they
occur, but when they do, you just get on with life, Lawson says. I'm
really happy that I was able to find replacements this quickly. The good thing
is that both of these players are really strong, quick studies. In addition,
Jamie Dailey (guitar, vocals) will exit at the end of 2007 to start a band with
Darrin Vincent, a member of Ricky Skaggs Kentucky Thunder. Doyle Lawson
Quicksilver will release a new album, More Behind the Picture Than the Wall,
on Rounder Records on March 27.
