[Repeater-Builder] Kenwood TK2180 software

2009-04-07 Thread Ed Flipsen
Good Morning

Since we have no Kenwood dealers in our area I was
wondering if anyone has the programming software and required cables and
documentation for the above mentioned Kenwood handheld for sale or know
where I could acquire such a copy

thanks

RE: [Repeater-Builder] Re: VHF Base Sta Antennas

2006-08-31 Thread Ed Flipsen
We received the same antenna for a club I used to belong to in 1990 at that
time it was a production run type antenna as to whether or not you can get
the same one today I guess only Sinclair can tell you

We have a unit made by Sinclair at one of our sites
which has a 310-C4 (UHF) on top of a 210-C4 (VHF).
(see attached picture)

It was donated to our club, so I don't know if it
was a special order, or is a currently available unit.

It's up about 130 feet and is REALLY heavy, with a best
guess weight of 200 pounds. We had to use a Jeep to pull
the rope for the Gin-Pole :)

2005-08-20 Thread Ed Flipsen
Yes I have echolink running on a yaesu vxr 9000 repeater with the cat 1000 b
controller and ended up connecting the echolink interface to mic input of
the repeater, I know that sounds mickey mouse but it was the only way I
could make it work... The interface I am using is the west mountain
rigblaster plus

I am attempting to hook echolink into the repeater system. I have the
main repeater setup, then I hooked in the RLb-1000 board for an
additional three ports. I tied all the audio lines and tx lines
together, but am not able to get it to key up the repeater. If anyone
can assist with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Mathew

 Yes
that is correct on using the vox setup; after many frustrating hours of
experimentation with different wiring scenairo's to the Cat 9000 controller I
ended up going to the mic input of the repeater to key the echolink interface
for transmitted audio and taking the received audio from the cat 9000... It
seems to work fine no one has complained about audio... We use echolink to link
two repeaters full time ... You can hear these machines by connecting with
echolink to VE5RI or VE6OSM

Are you using the vox setup of the echolink box? I'm thinking it
may be a cor problem. When you say mic input, you mean on the VXR9000
mic input, riding along with the repeater audio from the cat controller.
