[Repeater-Builder] Re: re zetron max 38

2008-02-11 Thread G0EWH
Hi Mick and group.

I have found from the manual for the 38A on the groups web site that the RS232
port is wired non-standard (3-2, 4-3, 5-5 with pc 4-6 7-9 linked) and can now
access the port with 9k6, but it has been set up by a company and has its own
password and the default does not work.

I can now get into the programming connector on the front and tried the reset
code of 3282# 2532# as mentioned in another past posting and 3282# 25327# as
shown in the 38A manual, which I would have thought would be similar.
Don't know what response I should get from the two code, assume they are put in
after each other, but the RS232 port still shows the existing text, which I
would expected to have changed to some Zetron text.

Thanks for the help

Richard

  hi richard,

you dont need any specific software to access the zetron, hyperterminal will
do it for you.
baud rate is setup in the main menu of the zetron.
make sure when u setup your com port the xoff/xon is the one you choose.
you should then get a message saying password
the default password is 12038,this should get u into the main menu.
  hope this helps

[Repeater-Builder] Zetron 38-MAX - how to use RS232 port?

2008-02-10 Thread G0EWH
Hi all

I have aquired a 38-MAX panel with a ex-pmr repeater unit, but don't have
any manual for it. I have downloaded the Spec sheets from Zetron and see
that I should be able to access the unit via the RS232 port.

1. Do I need software, or can I just use a terminal program like
Hyperterminal which I have tried without any response?

2. What are the port settings, spec sheets says Baud rate is selectable, but
how?

Any help would be appreciated into how I can actually use it with an amateur
repeater.

Thanks
