[Repeater-Builder] Identify an high Split master Pa ??

2003-11-25 Thread gervais,ve2ckn

hi,
i install a pa on a Master 2 repeater Low Split Vhf
of 105 watts output,
i have try to balance de pa and when we begin to
tune the 2 potentiometer for the matching of impedance of the natenna we hear a
tone
FROM the transmit audio of the Master
2.
The duplexer ,6 cans Dodge is in excellnt state and
tune at more of 100 db reject ,receiver and transmetter of the Master 2are
well tune .
So i am beginning to suspect the Pa,where should i
look to know if this is in fact an HIGH SPLIT PA .

thanks for the info,if you have any picture on the
parts that would confurm a LOW SPLIT PA send it to me

well lee,
i have a manual here that was useful to setup the
repeater,receive and transmitt.
well for the pa what it gave me an headache is that
it transmit during some minutes at 80 watts and suddently began to make sound in
the transmit audio.
i will read the manual tomorrow night ,part PA
.
is there anyway Lee ,high and low split's pa in
Master2,should i look for some numbers written somewhere ?
i may work on it all wek long and do nothing if it
is not built for 145 + and _ mhz

The two blue pots are for setting the power control
protection circuit and needs to be tuned to the procedure in the manual. If
this is a continuous duty pa,it has two air variable capacitors on the
tuneable output filter which also should be tuned according to the book.
Mis-adjusting them will cause problems. A manual is a must-have

What potentiometers are you turning for a match ? The ones I am thinking
of
are for SWR protection and not for matching to the antenna. They are near
the back of the amplifier board.

Some amps do have matching capacitors on a board to the right of the main
 amplifier board.
