Who's the nicest person you know? No silly, not me it's the
person who gives you a million dollars. But I have the answer
to your question/problem. I'm a fully Authorized Kenwood
and Pyramid Dealer and Service Station so I've seen this
 question a few times...

The tk-780 tk-880 has two surface mount resistors that need
to be relocated to allow external audio through the kct-19
 cable (external input).

And just to make life more enjoyable I'll now tell you
the Service Manual does describe those resistors when using
the KCT-19 but I know for a fact that most of the early
Service Manuals have the configuration wrong/backwards. So
once you get the two resistors moved over to the reverse of
what the Service Manual indicates, you also need to enable the
 external path PTT in software.

To enable PTT input on pin 8 of the KCT-19, under Edit/Optional Features,
 program Com2 as Aux Hook/PTT.

Move the resistors, change the programming and the tk-780 radios
should start transmitting audio through the external kct-19
 input port.

You will probably need to have a copy of the Service Manual
to understand the mentioned resistor(s) locations and
 configuration.

 that is all...

so the problem is as follows when the gm300 rx the tk-780
tx but there is no audio or depending on the setting the
mic on th tk works for audio so you key on a ht to the
gm300 and speak in to the mic on the tk and it transmits
that audio unless you have it disabled then you get no audio
but i know that i am getting audio from the gm300 to the
kct-19 i have tested it i have tried for hours and
have tried a tk-880 too same issue i have tried both pin
nine and pin five on the kct-19 and many hours checking
and testing different switch settings in the software it
just won't work but the other way back to the gm300 (uhf) works
perfectly, so looking for some pointers, my references are
the pyramid svr200 to kct19 wiring plan and the tk-780
service manual and its european so its kpg-60d
