Transfer between sets/bad backup headers
Ok, so I tried a Copy - Transfer from test1 (a backup set consisting of a CD-RW) to test2 (a Macintosh file) selecting 'All Files', options set to 'Normal'. It was a 10 002 files, 944MB, transfer. It resulted in a 563MB file. However, for some reason the transfer seem to have stopped when it was about 120MB left to copy, with a lot of errors: --- + Executing Backup Set Transfer at 2001-01-21 15.44 To backup set test2 - 2001-01-21 15.45.00: Transferring from test1 ! 2001-01-21 15.44.47: System clock appears to have changed, expected 2001-01-21 15.45.09 Dates, times and statistics may be inaccurate. I tried to do the same restoring again and got the same result except that the transfer this time stopped with 42 errors and with 80 MB remaining instead of with 75 errors/120MB remaining. Furthermore, this time the resulting file was 591 MB. Re: Transfer between sets/bad backup headers
I believe that "Bad backup set header found" errors are usually the result of bad data on the source storage set. This could also be an interface problem (poorly terminated SCI chain, etc.) Have you tried retrieving the data from the CD-RW set to regular files? Tried copying data with the source CD in a different drive? /Philip Ok, so I tried a Copy - Transfer from test1 (a backup set consisting of a CD-RW) to test2 (a Macintosh file) selecting 'All Files', options set to 'Normal'. Re: Transfer between sets
I'm not sure if it's on the market any more, but I'd try to duplicate the CDs with Astarte's CD-Copy. I know it can copy disks that dont' show in the Finder.
