I see a hang while copying files between two systems in daemon mode, using 3.0.0.pre2. [Bug 1442] rsync sender appears to hang when receiver recounters an error
Based on the approval of members of this list, I downloaded and installed AVG. Much to my disappointment, the email scanning does not prevent me from getting infections. After I delete the infected email, if I go to the deleted folder the AV pops up that there is infection in there. I shied away from Norton when I restored my laptop in hopes of a speedier system. I like the ZyWALL firewalls, which will give you these features and a few more. The ZyWALL 10II or 10W (wireless) run around $250US. Still pretty inexpensive. ZyXEL makes all of the Netgear stuff, if I'm not mistaken. As soon as that were to succeed, it would read the next message. So, the real question is, Why can't rsync send its message over the socket? Is the remote-shell process hung? The other side is doing the same thing, so both block on writes in a deadly embrace. I doubt this is the cause here, but the I/O loop needs to be fixed.
