Re: Bug in game Oh No! More Lemmings
I can not finish level 15, rating Crazy, password RHAOENPI. Maybe another bug? From: James R Curry Sent: Sunday, August 17, 2014 5:47 PM To: sam-users@nvg.ntnu.no Subject: Re: Bug in game Oh No! More Lemmings Level 3 of Crazy on the Sam version of Oh No More Lemmings! is impossible to complete. I'm not sure if there was ever a fix. I think the level codes are on an issue of Fred so you can skip to Level 4. I've just tried it here and that level does start correctly for me, though I've not tried completing it.. If you have a .SDF disk image for either Lemmings or Oh No More Lemmings, the disk image is incomplete. They are truncated at 80 tracks, but the complete disk uses 82 tracks, and will stop working at one of the later levels that access the missing tracks. I do remember hitting the limit in the original Lemmings game, but I don't know where the problem would be seen with the Oh No More Lemmings. I did try truncating my disk image to 80 tracks to see if I could reproduce it, but level 3 (crazy) still started correctly. If you can describe the symptoms in more detail I'll see if I can reproduce it here. Si -- James R Curry 8...@itdoesntsuck.com
Re: Bug in game Oh No! More Lemmings
It wouldn't surprise me. My understanding is that the bug affects more than one level, which is why I stopped playing ONML on the Sam. I wish there was a patch. It's to do with the explosion size. From the Oh No More Lemmings page on WoSAM: In order the play the new levels, the player has to load the origianl Lemmings game, select “New Level” and enter the code “HNBVBVPN”. It will prompt for the “Data Disc” at which point you insert the “Oh No! More Lemmings” disc. The new game data will load - this includes adding one new difficulty level. The levels are now: Tame, Crazy, Wild, Wicked and Havoc Colin = Quazar : Hardware, Software, Spares and Repairs for the SAM Coupé 1995-2014 - Celebrating 20 Years of developing for the SAM Coupé Website: www.samcoupe.comTwitter: @QuazarSamCoupe
Re: Bug in game Oh No! More Lemmings
I think you're being ignored by the mailing list because of the suspicion that you may be using an illegal copy of this game. Some people don't have a problem with copying a 20+ year old game for a dead system. Some do. That's not really the issue I think. Perhaps no one has seen the patch or can advise? I myself have not heard of an Atom Lite installer for Lemmings, so can't comment on how it's written or if it can be adapted for the Trinity. Does it use B-DOS cleanly or is it coded specifically for the Atom Lite? Would the patch author allow it to be modified for Trinity? The more software that can be easily patched to make use of B-DOS the better :) My full commercial games have standard B-DOS friendly installers and there has been a few patches printed in SAM Revival for various bits of software over the years with more to come. I played this game and I found a bug in the level 3 (rating crazy), password NEYLEKNO. Does it exist any fix and level codes for this game? Solaris104 I don't recall an updated version of Oh No More Lemmings. From what I remember playing it years ago there are other bugs in the game too - in a lot of the levels where each ability starts at 20, one of them starts at 22. The original Lemmings had an updated version, I remember getting it copied onto my original disk by Colin MacDonald at one of the 1994 shows in Gloucester. Bloody fantastic game! Really glad to hear that I was probably wrong, I'd seen this before and so leapt to a conclusion. :)
