Re: Always give bell msg
Hi, Last year I sent this message to the list, but to date I have not had any replies. Should I conclude that this patch does not have a chance of making it into screen or did it just slip through the cracks? Regards, Maurice. I am eager to know what people think about it. Right now I'm still patching screen when I install it, but I hope the feature gets included in some later version. There wasn't much demand for this feature and I'm not really in favour of bloating screen with to many features and commands. I'd prefer an option for the 'bell/bell_msg' instead of an extra command. One other thing I'm considering is if it would make sense to extend the bell/activity/silence message handling by allowing any screen command, instead of just showing a message. Re: vim syntax highlighting does not work in screen
aladdin wrote: Hi, all. My vim syntax highlighting does not work in SCREEN. The problem occurs under RedHat9, vim 6.1.320, SCREEN 4.00.02, remote login with putty. I have another Debian Sarge Linux under which vim and SCREEN work well together. I checked the screenrc file but cannot find anything help. What should I do now? Thanks! -- aladdin I finally got it, everyone. It turns out that the alias vi='vim' is not set in SCREEN. (It is strange that vi alias is set outside of SCREEN properly but is not exported to SCREEN??? BTW, I cannot find in which file it is set, not in my global or local bash_profile and bashrc files...) So what I excuted in SCREEN is the ancient stuff *vi* actually. I added an alias line in my .bashrc and it fixed problem. I'm really sorry for my stupid mistake and having made you so much trouble. Thanks to all for your kind help. -- aladdin ___ screen-users mailing list screen-users@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/screen-users
