For C.Rajagopalan:

I have that clip... and yes, it is rather funny. If you still have not
located it by the time you read this, send me a quick message (off list)
and I will be glad to e-mail it to you.

Can anyone let me know where to find such funny Video Clips ?

I was unable to locate the specific video clip you sought of the man
breaking the computer, but I can help now with the second question.

Here is a whole page full of links of video humor:

Okay, this is not a video, but this page is the "Illustrated Guide to
Breaking Your Computer"

http://members.aol.com/spoons1000/break/index.html

I'll also be happy to receive other such "short" funny video clips by
   e-mail, for personal use.

That is not a good idea to advertise for binary files on a mailing list
to be sent to you by e-mail. What if 100 or 200 subscribers sent you
files averaging 500K apiece all at once? Your provider would not like
that. :-)

Re: [SaF] A Weighty Problem

2000-01-31 Thread Garrett Wilner

Hello,

The drinking of water between each bite may work (for weight loss)... but,
it goes against other information that I've heard over the years.

Perhaps a little more research is in order (I am *not* an expert here).
I've always heard that it is *not* good to drink a lot of liquids *with* a
meal because it dilutes the overall concentration of natural stomach acids,
thus making it more difficult to digest food properly. The repeated use of
too much liquid with each meal may cause the stomach to pump up the
concentration of stomach acid in an attempt to counteract the dilute
mixture in the stomach... kind of a "homeostasis" thing.

The hazard might be that the stomach gets used to kicking up the extra acid
all the time, thus resulting in other problems down the line... especially
(perhaps) if one stops the extra water intake abruptly.

Anyway... I'd rather not get into any disagreements with anyone over
this... so, perhaps there are sources on physiology that can be consulted?
This subject is definitely out of my field here...

I suspect the final authority will tell us that there is little in the way
of substitutes for an intelligent exercise program coupled with
calorie-smart meals (aka: portion control). The water trick may work...
but, I think the issue may be a touch more complex than that...

Just a thought...

Best,

Garrett

Eat whatever you want . . . yes anything . . . this works . . . just a sip
of water between every bite . . . works . . . eat with fork, never with
hands,, and a sip between each bite. I've lost and kept it off for
years. Whenever I go up 5 lbs, I grab the water. Even ice cream . . .
everything except soup . . . sip between each bite. Give it a week . . .
you'll see . . .

Thank you Carol: Im working at diminishing the time I spend in front of
the monitor
and Ive been acting on the sage advice Alan gave me--eat less and
exercise more.
I did get a couple of bottles of Chitosan from a site on ebay and have
been taking a
few a day to see if it will speed the process along.
I am making an effort to give up coke and pepsi--and I try to drink
water with my
meals. I never thought of doing it as you suggest-- a swig of water
between bites...
Right now -Im about 6 ft.-and stow about 310 lbs. I do want to get
down below 250 and
feel supremely better with more pep and energy. I do believe that
what you suggest
would make less food more filling and by gum- Im going to try it.

Hey -maybe this could work for a lot of others out there
Any comments-suggestions or links to contribute to this common cause.
We need to get a SEEKNFIND Weight reduction program OFFNRUNNING.

Have a Great Superbown Sunday . Bob Johnsen
