Greetings Directors and Evaluators:
 
We are pleased to announce the dates for the 2009 SPDG Regional
Meetings! 

October 1-2: Portland, Oregon MPRRC  WRRC states, Day One:
8:30am-4:30pm, Day Two: 8:00-12:00pm
October 5-6:  Kansas City, Missouri, NCRRC  SERRC states, Day One:
1:00-5:00pm, Day Two:  8:30am-4:30pm 

October 8-9:  Washington, DC, NERRC  MSRRC states, Day One:
8:30am-4:30pm, Day Two: 8:00-12:00 pm
 
The purpose of these 1.5 day meetings is to network and collaborate with
other state SPDG project staff, and share best practices, resources, and
tools. To assist us in providing the hotel sites with good attendee
estimates, we would appreciate your time in completing the following
brief 6 question survey monkey by April 17:

If you have recommendations for this year's agenda and/or you are
willing to assist in planning the agenda, please contact Audrey at
adesj...@uoregon.edu. Similar to last year, each meeting will be
comprised of participants from states located in two of the six RRC
regions. Please review the list below to identify your state's region.
Each state is encouraged to bring up to three people, which includes
your external evaluator. 
 
In the event you are unable to attend the meeting for your particular
region, but you can attend an alternate regional event, please contact
us in advance so we can ensure accommodations. Once meeting sites and
hotel contracts are finalized, an announcement with links to
registration and lodging reservations will be emailed and posted to the
website.
 
*List of states served by each of the Regional Resource Centers (RRC): 
Mountain Plains RRC (MPRRC): Arizona, the Bureau of Indian Education,
Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, South
Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
Western Regional RRC (WRRC): Alaska, American Samoa, California,
Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of
Micronesia, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Republic of the
Marshall Islands, Republic of Palau, and Washington.
North Central RRC (NCRRC): Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota,
Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin
Southeast RRC (SERRC): Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana,
Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
Northeast RRC (NERRC): Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire,
New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Mid-South RRC (MSRRC): Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina,
South Carolina, Tennessee Virginia, West Virginia, and District of
Columbia.

sigserve: Reminder: SPDG Low Incidence Affinity Group Call 4/13

Greetings SPDG Directors:

This is a reminder for our next SPDG Low Incidence Affinity Group
Teleconference on April 13, 3:00-4:00pm Eastern Time. Dr. Betty Beale,
Director of the Southeast Regional Resource Center, will outline the low
incidence consortium that was established for several years with the
southeast states. This was a collaboration of State Special Education
Departments (usually the CSPD coordinator), state certification
departments, and IHEs to provide distance based course work leading to
certification and M.Ed. in deaf education.
