Re: [Sipp-users] Question: Which VoIP-testools do You use?
Thanks Klaus! Your page was one of the ressources I already used for my recherche :-) Have You (or someone else) ever used TTC-N3 for SIP-testing? The product of Testing-Technologies (TTWorkbench) seems to be interesting, doesn't it? We're discussing about buying a license for our institute ... BR Michael Hi! I also use openser. Configure your SIP client to use an openser as outbound proxy. Then you can do all the nice message manipulation in openser by using your favorite SIP client. IMO eyebeam is an absolute MUST for SIP testing. Lots of features, multiple lines, very stable and you can configure a lot of things. For debugging: ngrep (ngrep -t -W byline -d any port 5060 or or port 5061 or port 53 or icmp is my favorite) wireshark (especially for RTP analysis) you can also find some tools here: http://www.pernau.at/kd/voip/bookmarks-sip-test.html regards klaus Michael Hirschbichler wrote: Hi all, I am working on an overview about different VoIP/SIP/IMS - related testtools, and I am wondering, which tools(GPL and non-free) are You using. Well, some tools I already found during my recherche: * The great and wonderful SIPp ;-)) * Protos-Test - Suite * Spirent IMS Opticom Pesq * Sipsak * SIP Proxy Any other proposals and experiences? TTCN-3 is great for protocol conformance. TTWorkbench seems to be a nice product. Plus they have some SIP test suites. On 5/25/07, Michael Hirschbichler [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Thanks Klaus! The product no. of Testing-Technologies (TTWorkbench) seems to be interesting, doesn't it? We're discussing about buying a license for our institute ... I once bought a commercial packet sniffer with VoIP analysis feature. It was very expensive and had nice features - but 6 months later I could find these features also in ethereal and 12 months later ethereal outperformed the commercial tool. Since then I am very careful with commercial products. You have to pay in the beginning and usually also for updates (even bugfixes). Thus I try to stay with open source for above reasons. Furthermore such commercial testers often praise them with thousands of test scenarios and ETSI,TISPAN...tests, but often lack real world scenarios. regards klaus - This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML. Hi Michael, I can't disclose which commercial solutions we use. But yes, we do use some (less and less). Olivier. On 5/10/07, Michael Hirschbichler [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Thank You Olivier! Hi, last year at Fostel, I did a talk about some tools that could be used in this context: http://www.linuxtag.org/2006/en/besucher/programm/kongresse/telephony-summit-talkid-531.html The slides are available there: http://fostel2006.fostel.org/2006/slides.html - http://fostel2006.fostel.org/2006/slides/fostel2006-jacques-test-tools.pdf It starts to be outdated, but it could help...
