I found a .fin file in my sniffer directory and didn't know if anyone knew what it was and how it is produced. It is dated several days ago. Thanks for the aid. KJ Thanks for the aid. An orphaned .FIN file represents a message scan that was completed by a server instance of Message Sniffer that was not eliminated by the client instance. This can sometimes happen during transitions - such as start-ups or shut-downs of the server, or very rarely under some peak-load timing conditions. An explanation of the job file extensions used in our cellular peer-server technology is here: http://www.sortmonster.com/MessageSniffer/Help/PeerServerHelp.html#Extensions Since the file is that old it is safe to delete it. (In fact, if you were to delete any of these files by mistake Message Sniffer's creatures would most likely adapt and recover without loss of data.) -- By the way, to find the reference above quickly, I used the search feature on the web site on our help page and put in .FIN.
