It does actually. Just make sure to install the PHP 4 version
that works with both SquirrelMail and the web admin interface if
you intend to use either or both of them.

SquirrelMail works with IMAP too so if it is on a different server
then you have to enable IMAP.

On this same thread, what can the small guy like me do now that I no
longer own my former business. I also cannot afford the Imail/Declude
solution. I have about 20 domains I host as more of a hobby, but need to
move them off my former mail server soon.

I see someone has said that maybe Sniffer could be called directly from
SmarterMail. Is there a pretty much Plug and Play setup for anti spam and
anti virus that does not use Declude? It is not in my current budget.
Nothing needs to be said about Imail's prices...

Open Source/free on Windows is my preference.

hMailServer is free and open source.

I like it!

Once I finish the script work for calling Sniffer and the
work-around for ClamDscan and FPROT I'll post it. Clamdscan is the
service (daemon) for ClamAV. No reason that the daemon version of
Sniffer couldn't be used as well.

That would be very cool. Thanks for your work on this! I look forward to
testing it out.

I am just about done building the new box, I just have to install Windows
Server 2000 on it and patch it up. I plan on testing hMailServer as $49 is
in my budget.

Have you looked at MDaemon as an

No offense intended toward anyone,
but we've just about had it with the Imail/Declude combo. Looking at
migrating to SmarterMail... those who have changed seem to love it.

I LOVE Message Sniffer and don't
want to lose such a great product. I also DO NOT want to have to use
Declude with SmarterMail.

Couple of questions:

#1 Is there currently a way to
integrate Message Sniffer with SmarterMail without using Declude?

#3 If not are there any plans
to work with SmarterMail?

Thanks,

Not that you would want to do this. But declude does integrate with
smarterMail now. It has for several months.

2005-06-01 Thread Joe Wolf

Terry,

Will take a look at it... never heard of it before. It may be going too far
the other way. I'm not looking for something with fewer features than
Imail. I don't think SquirrelMail will allow all the domain management
features like Imail does (add, remove, modify users, passwords, lists, etc.)
but I may be wrong.

Thanks,
Joe

2005-06-01 Thread David Payer

Here is a consideration.

I am running EWall as an SMTP proxy. You can put it
on a separate box and use it with any mail server.

It offers a path to integration with off the shelf
anti virus products (not per email box, etc). and it allows you to apply
multiple "rules" to mail on Global, Domain, and User levels.

Price is more than reasonable. In fact, when used
with various "free" server products, they offer a special license. (Mail Enable,
XMail, Argosoft, etc).

See http://sssolutions.net for specifics. Trial
version available. Newsgroups at news://news.sssolutions.net
