[RCSE] Graphite- I cross tail setup

2006-02-26 Thread Jim Laurel
I am putting together a Graphite x-tail for my son, who wants to switch from
his V-tail. He never really liked the way the v-tail handles.

I have a spare x-tail fuse and the sailplane pod, but here's the question:
The old Graphite x-tail looks like it was designed to be an electric. The
runs to the elevator and rudder are not straight, so I'd probably have to
use a bell crank and a curved control rod to the elevator.

Those of you who have Graphite-I x-tail sailplanes (non electric), can you
enlighten me as to your setup? Where are the servos placed?

Thanks! -Jim

[RCSE] Vinylwrite

2006-02-26 Thread Robert P. Buxton

Was going to get some needed vinyl lettering for some of my birds and
have done business in the past with Vinylwrite.com in Napa, CA. It
would appear that perhaps they are no longer in business. Does anyone
have any information on the whereabouts and status of this company.
Or is this one of our Cottage industries that has gone by the
wayside. If so, would like info on a good source of vinyl letter
for my sailplanes. Thanks to all. Robert

How about an 8ch? - got one (92785/72band FM), old plugs. Have not
used in many yrs, but was working then - will at least bench check it to see if
it still does if you are interested. If raceredg31 doesn't want it, does
anybody else (since I've rummaged it back into daylight)?
Good Lift!

[RCSE] small part storage

2006-02-26 Thread Bill Johns

Greetings!

Every now and then you need to store small parts in a container that
makes it easy to find specific items. I've used the smallish plastic
boxes with lots of little bays and don't like them that much, open
the lid and you risk dumping everything. I recently found some
individual little cans with transparent lid, check out:

http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=2p=44948cat=1,43326

If you trip over that url, just go to www.leevalley.com, then wood,
then storage, then watch makes cases. You get 56 for ~$13 plus
shipping. If your significant other is into beads, this set is a no-
brainer. If you need wood working tools, hand planes, saws and such,
they have a marvelous selection of first rate gear.

Cheers,

Bill
