Hi Ward, I downloaded and unpacked your presentation .zip. Firefox
says it
needs to download a plugin to view many of the pages, it won't tell
me
what the plugin is. I already have the Java runtime and Flash
installed,
and don't really want more plugins. Firefox, Java and Flash are all
latest

 versions, this is WinXP SP3+.

Perhaps you can clarify what's going on?

Subject: [soft_radio] Implementing your own SDR?

  Folks:
Over the last several years I have been implementing my
  own SDR hardware and software.
When I got started I found the learning curve to be very
  steep and dominated by mathematics.
I believe this complexity is unnecessary and that getting
started with implementing SDR can be intuitive. In an
attempt to encourage others I have written up an 'Introduction
to SDR... without the math' presentation. I expect to give
this presentation at 'cactus con' this summer.
I order to prepare for this presentation I would like to
get some feedback from others familiar with the subject
  matter.
If you have some time, I would appreciate the feedback.
Please remember that I will be supplementing verbally.

My presentation can be found at:

  My sincere thanks.

 Hi Ward,

I wish you luck with your presentation! Hopefully more people have some
awareness of SDR now which makes life a little easier.

Back around 4 years ago when I first discovered SDR and the SoftRock kits,
I did a presentation to a local radio club with a friend.

This was just 6 - 8 weeks after first hearing about SDR and acquiring my
first SoftRock kit, so I was still in the very early stages of learning
myself. I suffer from a big problem with maths, what I can only describe
as 'dyslexia' but with numbers and formulae, which somewhat hinders
 understanding SDR!

Although the presentation is very dated now, and things have moved along
tremendously since 2006, Fred PE0FKO kindly made it available to download
 from his website.

 http://home.ict.nl/~fredkrom/pe0fko/g8voi/

It might help provide a gentle introduction to SDR in non mathematical
terms for those just joining the fun!

Feel free to use anything from it if you want.

One day, if I ever get some time, might update it!
