RE: Friday Flashback #308

2017-07-07 Thread Sven Constable
I still have two SGI Indigos with Softimage|3D installed and they won't go
away. So he was right in some way ;)

Extreme slowdown on windows 10

2017-07-07 Thread Matt Lind
Anybody else experience extremely slow copy/move/delete operations on their
C drive as of the latest windows update last week?

file operations on my other drives are normal, but on the C drive they take
forever and a day. Even something as simple as creating a text file in a
new empty folder takes up to 5 minutes. I have tried changing permissions
and ownership of files to full access recursively, but to no avail.

I imagine this has something to do with UAC or some other windows specific
security policy, but which?

thanks,

Matt

Re: Uber Shader from BLENDER, now on SOFTIMAGE!

2017-07-07 Thread Pierre Schiller
Ok, yes: we need to port softimage stuff to blender. Agree.
Did anyone just happen to notice cycles nodes on softimage includes
SUBSTANCE DESIGNER MATCHING PORTS FOR SHADING? Meaning: import stuff from
substance directly with cyNodes into SI. Dngg that's a time saver!
Huge update to Softimage if you ask me considering it's 2017 and .Sbrs
*kind of is a standard now*

Render Nodes free on blender: we agree.

Regards.
