Re: [SunRay-Users] dtlogin

2012-03-19 Thread Daniel Whitener
Hey David

I'm seeing something very similar... I typically just kill the process
and everything goes back to normal. I actually just entered a case
with Oracle today. If we get to the bottom of it, I'll be sure to
update the thread.

 Hello all,

I have a newly installed SRSS 5.2.5 server on Solaris 10 in a 4 server FOG
with a dedicated database machine.  One of the servers is running abnormally
high CPU utilization.  PRSTAT shows dtlogin/1 (user root)using a steady 50%
of the CPU.  User sessions are working normally and sessions seem to be
pretty evenly distributed between the servers.

Any idea as to why the dtlogin process is stuck?  How can I kill that
instance of the process without affecting the user sessions?

 Thanks!

Re: [SunRay-Users] OVDC on MacOS X

2011-01-17 Thread Daniel Whitener
Hello Matthias

I have seen this identical behavior. I found that I can work around
the problem by changing the default bandwidth the client uses. Change
it from the default down to something more realistic for your
connection speed - 1MB or 2MB for testing purposes. Once I changed
that value, I haven't seen the disconnect behavior since.

Good luck
Daniel

 Hi,

we just upgraded our Sunray server to the latest release of Solaris 10 and
the SRSS 5.1.1 software release from last fall. We started to use the ovdc
software client for remote access which works very well for us. It is really
a big improvement over remote session access using vnc since it is
 considerably
 faster.

However, we see a strange behaviour on some of the Macs that people use. On
some machines the ovdc client connects normally but after about 10 seconds the
session disconnects. This is really client related since the same user can use
ovdc on some Macs but not on others. They all run the latest version of MacOS
X 10.6.6 and there are no obvious differences. Has anybody seen a behaviour
like this? I will check the log files on one of these Macs when I get a chance
 to investigate in more detail.

 Regards,

 Matthias

Re: [SunRay-Users] SunRay 3.0 and vCenter 4.1

2010-10-14 Thread Daniel Whitener
Hey Eric

I found out in much the same way you did that vCenter 4.1 is not
supported yet. Apparently we have to wait for VDI 3.2.1 for the
vCenter 4.1 support.
