 Hello Elphel

I'm looking into purchasing an Elphel camera and have a few technical
 questions:

 1. Do the 10369 adapters (i.e. 103691,103692,103693 etc.) that are
 mentioned in
 http://wiki.elphel.com/index.**php?title=10369http://wiki.elphel.com/index.php?title=10369come
as standard or have to be purchased separately? I think they don't
show up as separate in the price list.

the boards 103691 and 103693 are part of the NC353L-369 camera, but 103692
http://wiki.elphel.com/index.php?title=103692 is supplied for the
NC353L-369-HDD camera, since it is needed to connect hard drive.

 2. What is the capacity limit with the CF cards that can be used in the
camera? Can 2x16GB cards or higher be installed?

We can use 16GB as well and possibly 32 GB, however we haven't tested the
32 GB option.

 3. Is there a specification that the CF cards should conform to?

Yes, there are specifications to the CF card, because most of the cards
claim that they support the DMA and Ultra DMA connection, but in fact most
of them don't. And the Axis processor we have inside the camera can only
work with DMA.
It is all well described in an article by Andrey Filippov:
http://www3.elphel.com/linuxdevices/articles/AT5102023409.html
in the section: Connecting Compact Flash cards

So here is the flash card we use:
SanDisk Extreme 3
CompactFlash
30MBs
4GB or 8GB, or 16GB, and may be 32GB

 4. Can the foam in the camera case be cut to suit a specially shaped
camera? If not, can it be delivered uncut so that it can be cut to shape by
 the purchaser?

The foam is cut to fit NC353L cameras; there is an option to use cubed
foam, your can pluck to fit other shape, as long as it still fits in the
standard case. We aslo have larger cases, usually used for Stereo/3D Elphel
camera.

 Thank you

 Dimitrios

[Elphel-support] HSV Saturaturation against Value for various exposure times

2011-11-14 Thread DI Andreas Bean
Andrey,

Measuring the saturation (for a single pixel) for different exposure times and
plotting it against the value shows an almost perfect gauss curve.

Is this based on physics or sensor properties?

Andreas,

Can you provide more details about your experiment and show your graphs?
What are you calling saturation in this context?

Andrey
