Re: [Elphel-support] Issues with Compact Flash installation

2014-11-10 Thread Olga Filippova
Dear Riccardo,

You have selected the correct CF card, so the problem is not with the card,
but with either 10353, 10369 or 103691 boards. We can offer to send you all
3 boards for replacement. It is most likely that only one board is
responsible, but we recommend to assemble the 3 replacement boards
separately and test the CF cards with them. After that you can detect which
one board you need to replace in the camera, and I will give you the
instructions on how to return the other 2 and the replaced board.
Please let us know if you will have any other questions.

Best Regards,

 Hello,
I am having some issues with the software installation of a CF card inside
 the Elphel camera.
I bought two 4GB Sandisk Extreme III CFs, and I have currently connected
only one of them in the bottom slot (the one closer to the 10369 board).
I bought this model of CF since I read over various support channels that
the Etrax CPU has a bug with the CF cards which are not explicitly
 compatibile with the DMA modes.
I tested both the CF cards on my pc for bad blocks or other errors, and
 they passed every verification.

Dear Olga,
Thank you very much for your kind reply.
So you think there's no chance this issue can be linked to a software bug?

If this is so, please let me know where I can send you the address info for the
shipment of the boards.
The deadline for this project is getting really near, and I didn't imagine to
be forced to pause the development because of a hw problem.
It would mean the world to me if you could ship the package with a speedy
courier as soon as possible.
I will promptly ship back to you the unused replacement boards and the
non-functioning one as soon as I discover which board is faulty.
Cheers,

Riccardo
