Re: [biofuel] I need large amounts of Biodiesel

2004-06-08 Thread James Merkle

my word, 75 gallons of fuel a day for one vehicle!!

I think that were you to take on the challenge of making this amount of fuel
yourself, you would find yourself very busy. I won't discourage you, but
just know that it is indeed time consuming. But you would save a HUGE
amount of money!. If this vehicle is not under warrantee any longer I
suggest just converting it to run on straight vegetable oil. then all you
have to do is filter the used restaurant oil.

I convert these cars for a small fee (around 8-900 dollars) and would be
happy to help.

[biofuel] I need large amounts of Biodiesel

2004-06-07 Thread bustedknuckle71

I am interested in biodiesel for a dump truck. Is it possible to make
large quantities of biodiesel? I average about 75 gal. per day 6 days
a week. Can this amount be made by a individual? Would this end up
being a full time job?
Thanks for the info

Re: [biofuel] I need large amounts of Biodiesel

2004-06-07 Thread Martin Klingensmith

You could certainly make that much. The hardest part would be collecting
the WVO to use.
You may want to try running on straight WVO - have a second tank in
which the return line loops through the secondary WVO tank before
returning to the diesel tank. The return line would act as a heat
exchanger warming the WVO. When it gets warm, switch the fuel with a
solenoid valve. [send/return diesel switched to send/return WVO]
