Saman (from off list) my target is to restore the colour to the icons set on id and I'm looking at the moment to use the same set of icons as are used on the rendered map, which would benefit from something of a tidy-up to allow the easier generation of alternate sets. To be honest I had expected to find a usable set of sources, but it seems not :( Even carto is missing the icon - power_substation - that started this two days ago! But it's tidily included in josm/P2 and in my mapping area I'm seeing many blank 'bubbles' on id ( god I hate that thing! ) and had expected an easy way to initially just pinch the one off josm and add it to id !!! Not over two days work trying to untie the knots. Where I am currently at is that at least it seems the naming is consistent? So the block of icons power-* should be understood by id since carto is just missing the substation one. Although the first hit is aerodrome in carto and airfield in id ... I'm ignoring the prefix added in josm/p2 here although when coming up with a 'standard' it would be tidier to include that in the definition as it has already crept into carto with the 'power_' block. WHERE is the bast place for me to expend time next? Target wise personally I'd like to see both the older josm/p2 icon set and the newer 'inverse' ones as rendering options with a black and white variation for those who seem to think its cool. Part of the start here was to get the colour back into id, and while it's still work in progress I can complete that easily but crudely, and I will switch the id icons to use carto at least where they are missing. The problem I see is that the nice square coloured josm/p2 icons don't work with id, so making that switchable will probably not work? Technically it's just changing the sprite image, so it's only managing the master set of icons to use that needs work. -- Lester Caine - G8HFL - Contact - http://lsces.co.uk/wiki/?page=contact L.S.Caine Electronic Services - http://lsces.co.uk EnquirySolve - http://enquirysolve.com/ Model Engineers Digital Workshop - http://medw.co.uk Rainbow Digital Media - http://rainbowdigitalmedia.co.uk ___ talk mailing list talk@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk

To show further evaluated tags, you can go to page [3] and click Ísland: You will get a Wikipedia entry and a list of all known translations. These are made from the name:* family. In all cases, you can see all tagged details of an object on the [tags] switch. If there are multiple objects tagged exactly the same way, then they are grouped together. This happens for example on page [2] with the streets called Kringlan. To allow further inspection of the objects, you can click on each and get the respective webpage for the OSM object. In other words, if I add three schools before I save/upload to OSM, I believe (please correct me if I'm wrong) that shows up as 1 edit on my profile. The only way to count the number of actual POIs added by a user seems to be clicking on each 'edit' on their profile, then counting all changes they made within that edit. Re: [OSM-talk] Counting POI Additions
You are right. Every time you click 'save', it roughly(depending on how the editor handles it) equates to one changeset/edit. A changeset may(and often) contains the editing/creation of many objects. How many objects(nodes, ways, relations) you created or edited can be counted. A good place to look is http://hdyc.neis-one.org/ (for example, my details: http://hdyc.neis-one.org/) But consider it that a way (a line, e.g. road or river) is made up of many nodes (points, each place it changes direction or curves). So it might not show exactly what you want. Below the initial object counters, are counters for popular tags. School comes under amenity. Counting tags instead of objects is another way to handle this, add some bonus for polygons instead of single nodes POI. If you want to take into account not only new objects, have a look at augmented-diffs which allow to easily track changes on objects without having to maintain a full OSM database as they provide previous and new version of a modified object. What I would in particular ask you for: A lot of objects still show Other object or unexpected object classes. This is because the list on https://github.com/drolbr/openstreetmap- website/blob/master/app/assets/javascripts/tagprocessor.js is yet to be completed. Re: [OSM-talk] Annoucement: Poup layer beta reworked
Hi Jason, Without some context it is hard to make any comments. What are the goals/user scenarios of the feature The feature shows all elements that have a well-understood meaning by their tagging. So the mapper gets a basic feedback what of his edits have made sense in the commonly accepted semantics. Additionally it is useful to get quick information about what exists in a certain location, in particular at any zoom level. not covered by the show data function? The data function is essentially a read-only view like an in-place editor. So it is only useful for me if I don't want to log in at that moment. It cares about raw data, without any processing. It is in particular deeply hidden, bceause it works in dense areas only on the highest zoom level, and then only with patience. For example http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/50.73183/7.0 still takes around 10 seconds to load, and it is difficult to select the right object.
Vou reformular a minha proposta: arterial?
Re: [Talk-it] Import toponimi Trentino
It violates the principle of least work because complicates the procedure for replying to messages. - It violates the principle of least surprise because it changes the way a mailer works.
-- Guilhem BONNEFILLE -=- JID: gu...@im.apinc.org MSN: guilhem_bonnefi...@hotmail.com -=- mailto:guilhem.bonnefi...@gmail.com -=- http://nathguil.free.fr/ ___ Talk-fr mailing list Talk-fr@openstreetmap.org http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-fr
